Historia
Knee-deep in a swamp in the depths of the Bolivian jungle, hunting for anacondas in a pair of sandals, it occurred to George that perhaps he should have booked that all-inclusive honeymoon to the Maldives after all. Join George and Rachel on their hilarious journey through the wilds of Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, as they climb volcanoes, fish for piranhas, trek through the Amazon rainforest, take death-defying bus rides, sample some of the continent’s strangest delicacies, and try to get to Machu Picchu.

Great Story and Narration
Revisado: 08-20-24
This is the second book I’ve read by George Mahood. This one was not quite as funny as Not Tonight Josephine, but still a great story and made me more interested in visiting South America.

Historia
Two Brits, George and Mark, set off from New York City to explore the back roads of America. In this calamity-ridden travel tale, George sets out in true clichéd fashion to discover the real America. Throw in plenty of run-ins with the police, rapidly dwindling finances, and Josephine - the worst car in the world - and you have all the ingredients for a classic American road trip. Will George and Mark make it all the way to California? And then there is Rachel, George's girlfriend, left back in England.

Historia
It's a life-changing trip. Take it! John Ahern had a high-flying job, big house, loving wife and two great kids. But if this was success, why did he sense he was failing as a husband and father? So John did something insane. He quit the corporate world and bought a busted-up camper-van online to chase an improbable dream: a year travelling together as a family...on the road with kids.

I really loved this book, I laughed out loud several times, I put it on every chance I got, even if it was just for a few minutes at a time. My family will be heading out on a really long road trip within the next few months and I really wanted to listen to someone else who had done just this with small children, to give me hope and some peace of mind. I am also on a personal journey to change my mindset through travel, like the transformation the author goes through in this book so this was exactly what I needed right now.

Loved it, finished in 3 days.

This was my first Agatha Christie novel. I had read some negative comments, saying it was so hard to keep up with the characters, and that the murders were too simple by todays standards.
I wrote down all of the main characters as they were being introduced, along with a couple of notes for each of them. This helped me keep everybody straight throughout the story. I like a great mystery or thriller, but I am not keen on horror, so I felt the story was just creepy and complex enough to keep it on the edge of supernatural and the reader guessing and second-guessing. I very much enjoyed it and plan to read more by Agatha Christie.
