Amazing!
Revisado: 05-05-23
This is a very good mystery. Romance is secondary. These books are best read in order. It will still be a good mystery, but will be excellent if you have read the others in the series. My favorite series! Wish book 8 was out.

To each his own.... I have read a lot of the reviews, and some of the other readers didn't care for the story. I enjoyed this book. A little history of Charles and a look into his emotions. I had a hard time pushing pause. I also like Holter Graham's take on the voices.

Historia
With her inquisitive mind, Charlotte Holmes has never felt comfortable with the demureness expected of the fairer sex in upper-class society. But even she never thought that she would become a social pariah, an outcast fending for herself on the mean streets of London. When the city is struck by a trio of unexpected deaths and suspicion falls on her sister and her father, Charlotte is desperate to find the true culprits and clear the family name.

Best series in years
Revisado: 08-10-21
Very entertaining. I wasn't sure about this series, the idea of Sherlock being a women sounded too contrived. I had bypassed this first book in the series many times when looking for a new listen. I finally chose it, and I have now listened to all in the series to date, I am so looking forward to the next. Kate Reading is a wonderful narrator, and adds much to the story. Give it a chance and you will be hooked too. The characters grow and evolve, giving depth to the series with each book,

Historia
Cassandra DeWitt has seen her husband only once - on their wedding day two years earlier - and this arrangement suits her perfectly. She has no interest in the rude, badly behaved man she married only to secure her inheritance. She certainly has no interest in his ban on her going to London. Why, he’ll never even know she is there. Until he shows up in London too, and Cassandra finds herself sharing a house with the most infuriating man in England. Joshua DeWitt has his life exactly how he wants it. He has no need of a wife disrupting everything.

Too long.
Revisado: 02-16-20
This is a good story, but man does it drag. I skipped a few chapters, and if I had been reading instead of listening I would have skipped many pages. I try to avoid stories where we are given every thought in the character's head, and 20 minutes every other page of.... "I can't say that, I want to say this, I feet this way, but I can't!" Cut four or five hours off of this book and it would have been really good. The narrator is excellent and kept me listening until the end.

Most debutantes dream of finding husbands. Lady Pandora Ravenel has different plans. The ambitious young beauty would much rather stay at home and plot out her new board game business than take part in the London Season. But one night at a glittering society ball, she's ensnared in a scandal with a wickedly handsome stranger.

Revisado: 11-09-18
Performance is so distracting... this narrator projects an exclamation point to the end of every sentence. And often reads in a sing song voice. Very disappointed that she is the voice for the newer Lisa Kleypas books... Sorry, I can't get past the voice:(
