Historia
For decades, Demi Moore has been synonymous with celebrity. From iconic film roles to high-profile relationships, Moore has never been far from the spotlight - or the headlines. Even as Demi was becoming the highest paid actress in Hollywood, however, she was always outrunning her past. Throughout her rise to fame and during some of the most pivotal moments of her life, Demi battled addiction, body image issues, and childhood trauma that would follow her for years - all while juggling a skyrocketing career and at times negative public perception.

Wow! Who knew? And when is the movie being made?
Revisado: 10-03-19
I thought when I downloaded this book I was in for (another) "Hollywood" memoir! I will say - that after I started listening to Demi narrate her "tale" - I was fully engrossed! I basically grew up watching her become the star she is - and had no idea of all the hardship she has been through. Her childhood alone is enough to turn any child into a crazy - drug-addict - mental health maniac nightmare! I admire her courage and strength to move beyond all that - and carve out a (hopefully) happy and healthy life for herself! Yes - she had to go thru many road blocks to come to where she is today - and good for her! Too bad she doesn't live closer to me (in the midwest) - I'd probably be a great girlfriend to her! I wish her the best!!!! She deserves it!

Historia
When Dr. Mike Scanlon is called to serve as an army doctor in Afghanistan, he’s acutely aware of the dangers he’ll face and the hardships it will bring his wife, Chloe, and their newborn baby. And deep inside, he doesn’t think of himself as a hero, but a healer. However, in an ironic turn of events, as Mike operates on a wounded soldier in a war-torn country, Chloe dies at home in the suburbs, in an apparently freak household accident. Devastated, he returns home to bury her, only to discover that the life he left behind has fallen apart.

Really?
Revisado: 05-14-13
I'm not sure Lisa Scottoline really wrote this book??? It read like a Danielle Steel novel - SLOW and Boring!! I didn't even finish listening since it was predictable - and monotonous - that I found myself drifting and thinking of "when is this going to be over?"
What happened to the suspense novelist that I love????

Great Listen!
Revisado: 03-12-13
I read other reviews before I decided to download this book - and all were good - but that doesn't always mean that I'm going to enjoy it. Well - this book was worth the "try"!
Interesting story - great narration - just plain - ol Good!
The characters were very "true" to life - (slightly "flawed" - like us everyday people) - that I thought at first that this book was more of a "memoir" and not a novel. I highly recommend this listen - and I look forward to more from the author .

Historia
Travis Parker has everything a man could want: a good job, loyal friends, even a waterfront home in small-town North Carolina. In full pursuit of the good life, including boating, swimming, and regular barbecues with his good-natured buddies, he holds the vague conviction that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style. That is, until Gabby Holland moves in next door.

Don't waste a credit on this one
Revisado: 03-09-13
I have read/listened to many of Sparks books - and as time goes on - they become more predictable and slower - and slower........ I didn't even finish the story - since I found myself drifting and thinking of when is this going to be over. So - I moved on and went to another book. Not only was it slow and monotonous - but depressing as well. The narrator was good though.

Finbar Dolan is lost and lonely. Except he doesn’t know it. Despite escaping his blue-collar Boston upbringing to carve out a mildly successful career at a Madison Avenue ad agency, he’s a bit of a mess and closing in on 40. He’s recently called off a wedding. Now, a few days before Christmas, he’s forced to cancel a long-postponed vacation in order to write, produce, and edit a Superbowl commercial for his diaper account in record time. Fortunately, it gets worse....

Revisado: 02-20-13
I thought this book was going to be an "insider" tell-all about the advertising world - but - it ended up being a real "story" - that just happens to be about a man in the advertising field.
Yes -it does give "tid-bits" into what goes on behind the scenes (at an ad agency) - but it is more focused on the main characters past "demons" and why he is the way he is.
It was a good - easy read - and if you are "stuck" as to what to listen to - it's worth the credit.

Historia
Clover, Addison, Mia, and Jane were roommates at Harvard until their graduation in 1989. Clover, homeschooled on a commune by mixed-race parents, felt woefully out of place. Addison yearned to shed the burden of her Mayflower heritage. Mia mined the depths of her suburban ennui to enact brilliant performances on the Harvard stage. Jane, an adopted Vietnamese war orphan, made sense of her fractured world through words. Twenty years later, their lives are in free fall.

If you want to "escape" to reality - this is the listen for you. This story mimics real life "troubles" that we all face everyday. There isn't any "wow" moment - but in the end - everything works out - (just like in life).
I enjoyed the story - the narrators were great - and over-all it was a very good listen!

getting a little "predictable"
Revisado: 10-29-12
I got addicted to this series after listening to book 1 - so I immediately downloaded book 2.
Yes - it was "okay" - but towards the middle/end it was pretty predictable.
Becca Battoe was okay -starting to get on my nerves a bit - Thankfully - the "sex" wasn't
as "much" as in the first book - (enough already! - we all know what it's like when you are attracted to someone - in the beginning of a relationship - ). I will say that it's pretty un-likely that a 22year old (Ana) can be so "mature" and know so much about life - (I remember when I was 22 - and getting married - etc - wasn't really "high" on my priority list - even if some "billionaire" fell for me - especially one with all his "problems") - and it's even more un-believable that a fresh out of college graduate would get promoted only after 2 weeks at a new job - to "editor " - please!
So - there are a lot of "really?" going on in this book - but.....I'm glad I listened anyway.
I will say - that I needed a break after the 2nd book - not sure when I'll get up the "courage" to start on the last book.

"addicting"!!
Revisado: 10-11-12
I was hesitant to listen to this series - because of the reviews that people wrote about the narrator (Becca Battoe) - but I wanted to listen to what everyone was talking about.
The beginning was a little slow - but after the first couple of hours the story kicked in - and wow!! Lots and lots of graphic sex - in great detail I might add. Yes - it made me think back to "the days" of being "young" and the start of a relationship - (what else do people do who are extremely attracted to one another and are first starting out together?) - Yes - it got a bit "much" - and the kinky - screwed up Christian is a little un-nerving (and you have to wonder why any woman would stay with someone who wanted to spank and hit/punish her??) - so that was disturbing as well (...yes - his good looks, his money - etc is all great - but........ ). I thought Becca Batoe did a really good job - and was very convincing as Ana - and Christian - not sure why everyone else made such a "fuss" about her????? I got sucked in .... and couldn't wait to start the 2nd book!!!

Story was pretty good - reading about the rich and spoiled (in London) - a nice "twist" to it as well. It makes you wonder - how "much" money can destroy people - and how much "stuff" do people really need?? How about just being happy and healthy? You can only hire people to do "so much" - and money can't buy you happiness - is the lesson I got from the story. The narration was great!

Revisado: 08-21-12
Love Emily Giffin's books! I wish she could crank out more then one every few years!
Her characters are so real and believable - and her subject matters are real as well. Yes - it's pretty much "chick -lit" but - that doesn't bother me (since I'm a "chick"). The narrator was awesome as well!! I will admit - that when I saw what the book was about (the subject matter - about - giving up a child for adoption) - I was slightly hesitant as to if I was going to like the book/story very much. But I got sucked in immediately! I also like that the author brings back old characters from her other novels. Great book to get lost in!!!!
