I’ve read this book when my son was just few months old. And I wanted to re-read it was he is now a toddler. I was great to remind myself again and to think about areas I can improve.

Historia
One basic need all children have, educator Alfie Kohn argues, is to be loved unconditionally, to know that they will be accepted even if they screw up or fall short. Yet conventional approaches to parenting such as punishments (including "time outs"), rewards (including positive reinforcement), and other forms of control teach children that they are loved only when they please us or impress us. Kohn cites a body of powerful and largely unknown research detailing the damage caused by leading children to believe they must earn our approval.

True Love for My Child
Revisado: 01-11-23
This is a great book that kept me wondering and curious about what it really means to love and respect my son. Ever since my Montessori training, the growing question “respect” became confusing which sometimes made it hard for me to speak or act a certain way towards my son and my students. After reading this book, it made me reflect my childhood and now I have concrete idea on how I could unconditionally love and respect my son and students.
