Historia
Juliet only wanted to see her childhood home one more time–to look at it from the street. She never intended to meet the new owners, let alone talk her way into a position as their new live-in nanny. But it's too late now to tell the truth about who she really is. Six-year-old Kitty has progressive mutism and cannot speak. Nobody knows why she keeps making silent phone calls to the police. Juliet makes it her mission to find out. As Juliet settles into the house, nostalgia for her childhood gives way to uneasiness, as troubling memories surface.

I loved the way the nanny took care of Kitty. But I was very frustrated when Beth and the Father got away with all the evil and untruths. All is well that ends well.

This was an interesting story line. Each of the main characters seemed to show 2 sides of their personality. The one they believed they wanted/could be and their true real self.

Historia
We explore the path to redemption, forgiveness, and healing as we witness the characters in Grant Hallstrom’s novel Amora struggle with their pains of loss and betrayal, the burden of guilt, and the drive for revenge. This engaging historic epic is based on the true story of the noblewoman who inspired Justin Martyr’s petition to the Roman Senate, and is at once a sweeping action-adventure and a moving examination of spirituality and faith.

I am very baffled. by this book.
Revisado: 01-30-25
This is the least favorite book I've listened too. l just could not pick up the story line. I had trouble sorting out who was who. I did not know what time or where in history I was listening to.
I did not like the readers and the screaming and yelling which hurt my ears and causing me to turn the volume up and down. I will keep it in my library and maybe try it again one day.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Books set in different countries using some foreign language words and names are hard to flow through. ì must go back and check names and words often. Even having this difficulty I enjoyed this book immensely. I will never cease to be appalled by the cruelty and evil that was part of WWII. I do learn history that I was not aware of before.

Revisado: 01-25-25
The characture of Deborah was unique for the time period of which this book was written. It made me sad because of what she had to endure to feel like a free person. In today's society 2025 women are free to do whatever they choose.
