Historia
Townsfolk called him the devil. For dark and enigmatic Julian, Earl of Ravenwood, was a man with a legendary temper and a first wife whose mysterious death would not be forgotten. Now country-bred Sophy Dorring was about to become Ravenwood's new bride. Drawn to the glitters of desire that burned in his emerald eyes, Sophy had her own reasons for agreeing to a marriage of convenience. One was vengeance, and in it's pursuit she would entangle Julian in a dangerous masquerade.

Sophie was willfully ignorant and reckless
Revisado: 10-12-24
I typically love Quick/Krentz/Castle heroines, but Sophie was hard to like because she willfully put herself and others into dangerous situations the whole book… ignoring the sound advice of friends (including the courtesan who suggested she should counsel with her husband) for me her character went beyond being charmingly naive and an unconventional original into the realm of willful snd stubborn and stupid in the way she went about solving the mystery of her sisters death

Historia
Virginia Dean wakes at midnight beside a dead body, with a bloody knife in her hand and no memory of the evening’s events. Dark energy, emanating from the mirrors lining the room, overpowers her senses. With no apparent way in or out, she’s rescued by a man she’s met only once before, but won’t soon forget.... Owen Sweetwater inherited his family’s talent for hunting the psychical monsters who prey on London’s women and children, and his investigation into the deaths of two glass-readers has led him here.

The narrator is good but takes about 2 chapters to get used to
Revisado: 09-20-24
This is an ‘ok’ arcane society novel it’s not as gripping as most but still good background (especially for the sweet water family) the narrator is good but it typically takes me 2 chapters to get used to her voice (in every book I’ve heard her do) … I think it has something to do with her phrasing and how she has an exaggerated risen inflection at the end of every sentence or statement … but after a while it gets less irritating

Olivia LeClair's experiment with speed dating is not going well. First there was the nasty encounter with the date from hell who tried to murder her and now the mysterious Harlan Rancourt - long believed dead - sits down at her table and tells her she's the only one who can help him locate the legendary Vortex lab. This is not what Olivia had in mind when she signed up for the Four Event Success Guaranteed package offered by the dating agency. She doesn't have much choice, though, because her psychic investigation firm works for the mysterious Foundation.

Revisado: 09-17-24
This was the best book of the fog lake series… Harland was my character so far (reminds me of Fallon Jones from the arcane series) this book ties up the loose ends in an amazing way

I love how she ties the arcane story line into this new one… I knew the villain as soon as JAK introduced her… but if was still a good plot

I knew the villain by character 3
Revisado: 09-13-24
I won’t say that these stories are formulaic (but I will) I usually enjoy Quick/Krentz/Castle novels but something was missing in this one and I would say it was missing the spark … I will admit I knew the villain or should I say villains in the story, but I was kept guessing on the exact details

Historia
The Earl of St. Merryn needs a woman. His intentions are purely practical - he simply wants someone sensible and suitably lovely to pose as his betrothed for a few weeks among polite society. He has his own agenda to pursue, and a false fiancée will keep the husband-hunters at bay while he goes about his business. The simplest solution is to hire a paid companion. Finding the right candidate proves more of a challenge than he expected.

Logic meets passion
Revisado: 08-30-24
The earl is logical and decides the best way to find a fake fiancé is through an agency… it’s a great match for 2 strong willed, dutiful, yet passionate people… together they have to solve the mystery of Arthur’s great uncle who was murdered… the narrators voice was a bit sing songy but still pleasant… I loved the story

Historia
Some scary-looking aliens have just boarded Fortuna Tau, our little asteroid mining station. Kordolians, by the looks of things. What the hell do they want with this floating rust bucket? What are they even doing here? Come to think of it, I've never seen a Kordolian up close before. They're huge and intimidating, with strange silver skin and pointed ears. They have freaky nano-armor, and they're packing a serious arsenal. We humans stand no chance against them.

Bossy sexy sweet alien
Revisado: 01-06-23
A great start to the series
The ruthless general Tarrak Akkadian makes a unexpected stop to the space station Abby is working at
The aliens need their ship repaired after an attack from some space cockroaches (Zargek) and the humans are not happy to have them there or the cockroaches who come aboard with them
The general and his men are disdainful of all humans and the humans are terrified and distrustful of the scary aliens… but they find out they aren’t so bad (on both sides)
It’s a story of Boy meets girl… girl gets attacked by bugs… boy takes girl home to heal… girl gets mad at being abducted… boy has to protect girl from the mad scientists… and they fall in love
I Love this story about how two people can change their life views when they fall in love

Historia
Rose Drayton lives on the Edge, between the world of the Broken (where people drive cars, shop at Wal-Mart, and magic is a fairy tale) and the Weird (where blueblood aristocrats rule, changelings roam, and the strength of your magic can change your destiny). Only Edgers like Rose can easily travel from one world to the next, but they never truly belong in either.

Enjoyable Story
Revisado: 09-26-18
Some reviewers stated this was too much of a romance story or that the story line didn’t make sense... first I want to say the romance was very “pg” with maybe a few “pg13” and “R” moments, but nothing super questionable ( I have definitely heard worse)... the romance was a bit shmaltsey at times, (the author must really like green eyes... enough said)... but was fine for what it was...
I enjoyed the storyline and felt it flowed well... the plot was well explained and didn’t leave gaping holes ( always a plus)... the narration was pleasant and easy to follow
Over all it was a fluffy piece of fantasy mixed with some light romance... an enjoyable story

Historia
Ivy Wilde, the laziest witch in the West, is still entangled with the Hallowed Order of Magical Enlightenment. That's not a bad thing, however, because it gives her plenty of excuses to spend more time with sapphire-eyed Raphael Winter, her supposed nemesis. And when he comes knocking because he needs her to spy on the latest series of Enchantment, she jumps at the chance. Hanging around a film set can't be hard - or dangerous - right?

Historia
Ella is the last of a dying breed of humans who live hidden deep in the forests of Washington State. All of her life, she has heard horror stories about the Others, the beasts that live beyond the safety of the mountains. In ancient times, humans and the Others lived together in peace, but a great battle divided them, and the shape-shifting species won the war.

Shifters with a twist..Humans are the rare ones
Revisado: 05-23-17
I loved this book... such a different take on Human/Shifter relations.
Made me think of white man and native American relations in then early days of the American colonies... so sad.
I liked Ella right away... she is beautiful, strong, and capable, and fiercely loyal.
Ty is your typical alpha male in many ways, however I liked that he could see and appreciate Ella's strengths.
The story was interesting and kept me guessing on many points even at the end, like... who is the collector? Is there more to the war between humans and shifters then their history recorded? What will happen to the humans now,and are there more humans elsewhere....?
my only complaint is that I now have to wait for more in the series... and I hope that there will be more
lets not forget the narrator who did an amazing job... especially when things got hot
good concept, well written story, excellent delivery... 5 stars all around
