Historia
Avan Jogia grew up as a teen idol. He stumbled into the spotlight during the birth of the internet, the early days of Instagram and Twitter, before everyone online was a star. He spent his time in that spotlight writing, observing the cult of celebrity, the hilarity, the absurdity, and sometimes sinister side of being idolized before you’ve even had the chance to decide for yourself who you are. Now, in his most revealing and honest work to date, he has assembled a book of poems as an act of self-dissection.

Profound
Revisado: 02-16-25
It’s odd to say I liked it because it talks so much about sadness. I felt like a fly on the wall listening in to his life. Also, hilarious I laughed out loud several times. The imagery in his poetry is rough and vibrant. Avan’s usage of words and emotions are so engaging I listened to the book almost straight through. Probably one of the best books I’ve listened to in a while.

Absolute Gold

I loved this movie so much as a kid and finally decided to hear the audiobook. The speaker invoked so much emotion and personality to each character. The story is detailed and beautiful. I loved every minute of it.

Historia
For Dee Kwan, every day is the perfect day. No, really. She has a house she loves, a job she adores, and a ridiculously attractive “nemesis” who never seems to mind when she wins their favorite online game. How can life possibly get better? (It can’t, obviously. It can only get much, much worse.) Soon Dee is forced to share her adorably cozy home with her parents and estranged grandmother. Then she’s tossed into the deep end at work, tasked with cleaning up a scandal for the intimidatingly chic luxury fashion firm Celeste. If that weren’t enough, she discovers her hot nemesis works there, too.

I love Lily Chu’s books, unlike her other books this protagonist is more lively and more of a heroine. More beautiful descriptions of the great Toronto, showing where her heart truly is.

I very much enjoyed this book
Revisado: 08-12-22
This book had a very slow start but there was something steady about it. The reader did an excellent job personifying the characters. The story itself is descriptive and well worded. There were a lot of twists and turns so it was very hard to put this book down.

Historia
"Just three dates. That's all I'm asking. One boy shares your sense of humor. Another has similar interests and ideals. The third boy has a helpful heart like yours." When Aditi Gupta comes home late from work as a pediatric resident one night and her grandfather offers this pitch, she reluctantly agrees. She's far too busy with med school to be dating, and besides, she dreams of a love for the ages, like her parents, not an arranged marriage. And yet she finds herself agreeing to three dates because she loves her grandfather. All she has to do is make herself utterly ineligible.

cute but predictable
Revisado: 07-23-22
I liked the book it was short, cute, and predictable. Though that is sometimes what is needed, like a classic vanilla cupcake. Short and sweet. There is something to be admired of a story that has great details and easy to follow plotting, especially when it is beautifully told.

Eh, not the best
Revisado: 07-19-22
ok, this book had a lot of potential to be good but it really wasn't that great. The details were wonderful but the plot was bland. The voice actor was great and I loved the performance. But the story didn't really go anywhere, the protagonist shows no potential of changing but seems to be more of an observer than catalyst.

Historia
When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius—his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.

Read this book!
Revisado: 06-29-22
I can't believe I wasted so much time not reading this book! The book has had me sitting on pins and needles after every arc. Each character was well thought out and charming in their own way, brought to life with this incredible story telling. Let me emphasize the gorgeous details of this book, from outfits to history details this book was obviously well researched and thought out. The joy this book brought me is immense and without measure.

Historia
The annual Valentine’s Day singles soiree is always a big money-maker for Eloisa Giordono’s winery. What could be more romantic than looking for love at a quaint family vineyard on the most romantic night of year? Well, just about anything as far as Eloisa is concerned. She’s a Valentine’s Day Grinch who thinks it’s the lamest, most clichéd holiday ever invented. But Eloisa is thrown for a loop when a sexy, self-described hopeless romantic shows up at the singles soiree and keeps her captivated.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.
