Revisado: 03-08-25
I'm not one of those people who always believes the book is better, but in this case, it is far better than the show. Well-written and an interesting story - I look forward to continuining on.

Historia
Arthur lives with his father, a fallen but proud former noble, in Border Village #49, along with the other good folks condemned to toil in service to the Baron. But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. Invaluable, too, to a young man of spellcasting ambitions.

I loved the bloopers at the end! I was looking for a new series after listening to Michael Manning's wizard and exile series or whatever it's called I think art of the adept. So very excited to continue on with this one because it was fantastic!

Choose this narrator for a reason, but nope!
Revisado: 11-24-23
I like her voice, but after 2 hours I had to return the title. I cannot stand it when you have to constantly have your finger on the volume dial because her whispery voice is barely audible and then suddenly she's screaming. So you either miss some of the book or have your eardrums blasted out. I feel like audio tech these days should be able to regulate this by now. Or at least on Audible to have the option to auto-regulate the sound. I've never had to return a book because of this, but it got ridiculous.

Great final book! Does not disappoint.
Revisado: 05-25-23
I'm not sure why there are so many haters in the reviews! I thought this book followed true to the prior books and my only one complaint is the same thing other people have said about the narrator. As amazing as this narrator is--I thoroughly enjoyed him--it was frustrating that for a large section of the book he was mispronouncing the Queen's name. Otherwise it was well written, engaging, and If you liked the first four books, then definitely finish the series off!

Historia
Séamas O’Reilly’s mother died when he was five, leaving him, his ten (!) brothers and sisters, and their beloved father in their sprawling bungalow in rural Derry. It was the 1990s; the Troubles were a background rumble, but Séamas was more preoccupied with dinosaurs, Star Wars, and the actual location of heaven than the political climate.

Narrator ruined it for me
Revisado: 11-05-22
The narrator enunciated so concisely, that it sounded like she was learning to read for the first time. Or reading to children. Harsh edges on the end of every single word. And then the whispering was so quiet, I was frequently changing the volume. Sparks Like Stars was such a fantastic book that I tried for over 2 hours to get into this one, but could not.
