Penn and Daisy were amazing!

From their first encounter until the very end, I loved them so much! The playful banter was fun and I loved how Penn (Peter 🤣) always encouraged Daisy to keep her fire! I really loved that Daisy was trying to make her moms wishes come true of seeing her in her wedding dress, and I happy she was able to see her get married- even if wasn’t the person they assumed it would be! Mama knew all along though and I think it was just the sweetest! I enjoyed the side characters- even Duke turned out being a favorite- but i really can’t wait for Hugo’s story! I enjoyed the audio for this one! I think the narrators worked great together to bring these characters to life 💖

I adored this story. I laughed, I cried, I was mad, I was giddy.. all of the emotions? I had them. I loved the dementia representation. As a nurse of 7 years I’ve had the privilege to be around dementia a lot and I think Abby portrayed the disease extremely well, especially the toll it can take on others to care for someone with dementia.
I loved Samantha and Xavier. From their first interaction to their last in the book I was in love. I loved their initial meet the most because… a cat without a butthole?? I was in tears laughing. I loved their first date and how they made the best of it. The chemistry between them? Amazing. The banter? Phenomenal. I loved how much they worked (actually WORKED) to make their relationship work. The extra hours at the vet office, the plane flights back and forth, dealing with trauma from your childhood while trying to prove yourself to your crappy parents- ALL OF IT! It was nice to see them want things to work between them so badly! They faced many challenges and hurdles and I loved getting to be along for the ride while they worked through them! 🥹
