Great epic story

I will keep this short. The story is great. It follows families over generations and I loved that. The only bad part was that there were long silences in the reading. And I wondered if my app stopped working. Then it would pick up with the reading again. And this wasn’t always at the end of a chapter. It was strange and distracting. But if you can get over that (and I recommend you do...) it’s a wonderful, wonderful story.

If you are debating whether or not to read this book, do yourself a favor and get it. I thought a historical book of this length was going to be dull and monotonous. I couldn’t have been more wrong. After listening to this book I have sought out more Roman/Egyptian history and have not yet found anything of this caliber. The story moves quickly, and for all I can research, it is historically accurate. I have thought of listening to it again, and I hardly ever read things twice. I loved both the writing and the verbal presentation. If I had three thumbs, I’d give it three thumbs up. But alas, I was only born with two, so two it is.... five stars and two thumbs up! Enjoy!!!

Great book! Takes you through parts if WWII as if you were there. If you are at all interested in the history of this war, this is the book to read.
