Historia
Archie’s life--and the whole world--is turned upside down by Covid-19. Suddenly there are no more Friday night dinners out, no more going to school, no more hanging out with friends...Archie can't help but feel more alone than ever before. While everyone else seems to be adapting to their new normal just fine, it's like Archie is permanently on mute, unable to find the words to describe how he feels--and sometimes, unable to find someone who will listen.

Historia
Viv's career with the notorious mercenary company Rackam's Ravens isn't going as planned. Wounded during the hunt for a powerful necromancer, she's packed off against her will to recuperate in the sleepy beach town of Murk—so far from the action that she worries she'll never be able to return to it. What's a thwarted soldier of fortune to do? Spending her hours at a beleaguered bookshop in the company of its foul-mouthed proprietor is the last thing Viv would have predicted, but it may be both exactly what she needs and the seed of changes she couldn't possibly imagine.

Ahhhhh. Such a great prequel
Revisado: 12-21-23
Moving, sweet, and such lovable characters. Excellent voice acting too, though I’d expect nothing less. Highly recommend.

Historia
Girls team up to overthrow the kingdom in this unique and powerful retelling of Cinderella from a stunning new voice that’s perfect for fans of A Curse So Dark and Lonely. It’s 200 years after Cinderella found her prince, but the fairy tale is over. Teen girls are now required to appear at the Annual Ball, where the men of the kingdom select wives based on a girl’s display of finery. If a suitable match is not found, the girls not chosen are never heard from again.

Riveting, Timely Fractured Fairy Tale
Revisado: 08-27-21
Imagine if the story of Cinderella was turned into a religion, and used by a country’s rulers as the basis for all laws and customs. There’s a distinct ‘Handmaidens’ air about this book, but rooted firmly in the fairy tale world. I’m reading this as news comes across the wire of the Taliban re-instituting rules preventing Afghan women from working, leaving home without male escorts, etc, and so this book struck a particularly chilling note because of that. But this isn’t a story about subjugation & pain— it’s a story about hope, and about women fighting for the freedom to decide the course of our own lives.

Historia
In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child—not powerful, like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power—the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves.

Excellent narration

One of the best books Ive ever “read.” Also, the narrator deserves 10 stars. She knocked it out of the park.
