Historia
In 1965, Frances Adams is at an English country fair where a fortune-teller makes a bone-chilling prediction: One day, Frances will be murdered. It is a prediction that sparks her life’s work—trying to solve a crime that hasn’t happened yet. Nearly sixty years later, Annie Adams is summoned to a meeting at the sprawling country estate of her wealthy and reclusive great-aunt Frances. But by the time Annie arrives in the quaint English village of Castle Knoll, Frances is found murdered, just like she always said she would be.

Wonderful storytelling!
Revisado: 03-23-25
I love a good mystery with a cast of endearing (and frustrating) characters. Definitely want to read more of Perrin's books. Finished in a couple of days.

Historia
In Donald Miller's early years, he was vaguely familiar with a distant God. But when he came to know Jesus Christ, he pursued the Christian life with great zeal. Within a few years he had a successful ministry that ultimately left him feeling empty, burned out, and, once again, far away from God. In this intimate, soul-searching account, Miller describes his remarkable journey back to a culturally relevant, infinitely loving God.

Post "woke" review
Revisado: 01-24-25
I read this book several years ago and recommended it to friends.
During COVID, as so many of us former Pharisees did, I got woke.
I just listened to the book again. God is so good. Hearing such a similar journey to my own and coming to so many of the same truths is a blessing. Especially to hear the male version of my story.
Thank you Don Miller for such a beautiful, raw and inspiring story.

Historia
Austin Channing Brown’s first encounter with a racialized America came at age seven, when she discovered her parents named her Austin to deceive future employers into thinking she was a white man. Growing up in majority-white schools and churches, Austin writes, “I had to learn what it means to love blackness,” a journey that led to a lifetime spent navigating America’s racial divide as a writer, speaker, and expert helping organizations practice genuine inclusion.

Austin in her own voice
Revisado: 06-28-22
I know that had I only read the book, I would have been just as changed. But hearing it in Austin’s voice makes this permanent for me. I will forever hear her voice in my head when I am faced with situations where I need to speak up - and I will. Her voice will give me that power.
Cannot wait to read more of her writing!!

Historia
I Am Restored tells the untold story of how Lecrae's past nearly ruined his future—until he learned that the wounds we carry can have the potential to be unlikely guides to healing and freedom for ourselves and others. He documents the shattering yet hopeful story of how he faced the scars of his past—sexual abuse, physical trauma, addiction, and depression—and emerged more human than ever. This is a hopeful, inspiring charge to start your journey to healing today. No matter what your past has held, God is near you, he hears you, and he's not done writing your story.

Cathartic ride
Revisado: 11-16-20
This is one of those books that you read and get all excited about sharing with everyone. I had to dig deep and re-address my own trauma as well as that of a few close loved ones. I learned authentic ways for us to be compassionate with one another, yet hold each other accountable to be who we are designed to be.

An enjoyable, open autobiography narrated by John
Revisado: 09-06-16
I have to admit I was skeptical about this book, but it was surprisingly well done. As he narrates his life, and the common struggles many of us face in life, I remained engrossed in the story from beginning to end.
