I have no words for how much I loved this book! Just when I thought the end would be predictable, the twist had me stunned with my hanging open.

Seriously! I finished this book while making a quick trip to the grocery store. At one point, I was standing in the middle of the frozen food aisle with my mouth hanging open. Because I truly did NOT see that wrap up coming.

A Tempest at Sea is hands down my favorite book in the Lady Sherlock Series, and I am amazed at how it gets better with each installment.

A short, easy listen and full of cuteness! Although, it takes place around the holidays, it's pretty light on all the Christmasy things.

The first part of this book is way harder to read (listen to) than the first book in this duet. Please heed the trigger warnings!
If you can handle it, the story is amazing! The author takes readers through Addy being traumatized, through her up and down healing process. And of course, the spicy is just as good between Addy and Z.

This was such a good book! But some parts were tough to listen to.

I appreciate that although Zaide (H) is more of an anti-hero he doesn't have some sad, twisted backstory that made him the way he is. He's not broken and coping in unhealthy ways. He just is the way he is, and he makes no apologies for it.

Adeline (h) on the other hand... I don't judge other people's kinks as long as it harms no one, but this was a new one for me. Part of me wants her to seek help, but a bigger part of me thinks Zaide is exactly what she needs. He's the yin to her yang.

5 star narration! I really liked having one person do all the male characters and another doing all the female characters. It made listening so much better!

I loved the writing and the story. The way the romance unfolded felt very authentic to what a teenager questioning their sexuality may be feeling. Especially one who was raised in strict religious beliefs.
The self-harm may be triggering for some.

The narrator made this book an enjoyable one to listen to. Her different voices really matched with the personalities of the different characters and made it easy to tell who was speaking when.

The book itself was pretty good. If I'm not mistaken, this is my first time reading/listening to Anne Stuart. I usually prefer Victorian era romance, but it was cool to switch it up with a medieval setting.
Simon of Navar is really just what I want in an anti-hero, and despite her convent upbringing, Alys was smart and not at all what people assumed of her. She and Simon were well matched and I really liked their story (along her sister's sub-plot).

I really enjoyed Fake it Till You Bake It. The story was lighthearted but had some depth as well. I think my favorite part was that the female lead was a fellow bougie, black girl and her banter with the male lead felt very authentic.

The narrator also did a great job, although her male voices sounded a lot alike in someplaces.

My only complaint was that it did tend to drag in places. Namely, the one love scene and the ending. They both seemed to go on longer than necessary.

All in all, I really loved this book and look forward to reading more by Janie Wesley in the future!

The story itself was a cute little romance, but there just wasn't enough substance to justify how long it was.

I laughed throughout this book! It was so fun and lighthearted. The sexy scenes were good but the banter between the characters was the highlight for me.
