For a story about thats supposed to have clockwork elements, zombies etc. This story was rather dull, it seemed to move along at a snails pace and what action there was, was over so fast that you never really got into it. Some might like it but personally I find it one of the weaker steampunk novels.

I wasn't sure what to think of this novel when I first heard of it. I half expected it to be like the modern movies of sherlock holmes, enjoyable but not the same. I was very wrong, this story felt like the one of the originals from the beginning. The way it flowed, the way the characters talked, it all fit. An awesome book and well worthy of being accepted as canon.

Fun, funny and just plan cool this book is for anyone who enjoys superhero stories. Cal makes an awesome antihero and hearing his thoughts on things is just plan hilarious at times. I felt the ending was a bit rushed but all same this was a fun if a bit short, ride.

There's not much to say about the book itself, its Sherlock Holmes written by the master himself. As for the narrator, I personally have enjoyed listening to Ralph Coshams method of reading the story and now in general have made him my preferred narrator when Sherlock Holmes is concerned.

Great story and a very good performance. I know some people didn't care for the sound of the main characters accent but I thought it was great. There are very few readers who can actually get other accents and tones besides their native one. This guy blew me away from the way he went from whatever sullivans accent is, to southern okie, to a japanese ninja, to a older black man and for the most part they all sounded great.

I found the story itself to be engaging, fun and epic and I greatly look forward to listening to the next one.
