Historia
Has something indeed happened to evangelical theology and to evangelical churches? According to David Wells, the evidence indicates that evangelical pastors have abandoned their traditional role as ministers of the Word to become therapists and "managers of the small enterprises we call churches". Along with their parishioners, they have abandoned genuine Christianity and biblical truth in favor of the sort of inner-directed experiential religion that now pervades Western society.

This book written in the 90’s perfectly mapped not only evangelical culture but the broader culture taken to its ultimate end. The author can be longwinded at times but the information contained is very useful for any christian interested in maintaining a biblical worldview. Highly recommended.

Historia
What can the call to discipleship, the adherence to the word of Jesus, mean today to the businessman, the soldier, the laborer, or the aristocrat? What did Jesus mean to say to us? What is his will for us today? Drawing on the Sermon on the Mount, Dietrich Bonhoeffer answers these timeless questions by providing a seminal reading of the dichotomy between "cheap grace" and "costly grace."

“Only he who believes is obedient, and only he who is obedient believes.”
Revisado: 12-24-21
This book is just as relevant today as when it was written and it has helped me tremendously in living and resting fully in Jesus. I would recommend this book to the most progressive to the most conservative christians that I know as it addresses both without reservation. I will be keeping this book on my list to re-read/listen to and study at a later date as well.
