Husband of 37 years and I both enjoyed this! Kinda like a chick-flick movie, but written from the guy’s perspective. Don’t read if you are hostile toward churches or Christians. Andrew Petersen does a great job reading it, too.

Why is this only on Audible Kids? Like all classics, this is a complex story with appeal to adults as well - it’s actually an adult novel with simple aspects that appeal to kids. I have re-read it many times at various stages of life. I am near 60 now and found new pleasure, new nuances. PLEASE get Thunderhead and Greengrass of Wyoming, the sequels. I volunteer to read them aloud!

One of the best true stories we have EVER heard!

First - true story in which none of the heroes died! This is a well-written story by a man who lived it. I am not usually a fan of submarine stories and movies, although my husband loves them. WE BOTH, EQUALLY, LOVED THIS BOOK! Thank you, Destin, of Smarter Every Day for recommending it. My husband listened to half, loved it, and listened again to the first half so we could binge-listen to it together. It was over far too soon. Oh, and Corey Snow narrated perfectly, too.
