The words in this book were exactly what I needed to hear. I have never, ever considered challenging the messages I hear. The idea that messy does not equal failure was a thought I would never have had on my own. Thank you KC, for meeting me where I am, and showing me a way out.

…and I AM a woman!!!
This is the third book in a row by this author where I absolutely abhorred the heroine and wished the hero would move on. Uhg. Too many infuriating stereotypes, too many dumb b!+€#$, and the sex isn’t good enough to keep reading.

This story has everything that’s wrong with the patriarchy on full display. Yuck. And I don’t find a southern accent charming. It makes a man sound SLOW, like maybe he’s been walking barefoot to the outhouse again and he got himself that dang southern tapeworm. Again, yuck. Christian Fox, however, was AMAZING. He is the only reason this gets more than one star.

I would have appreciated for the authors to describe the hero’s dead mother as a human being with a tragic disease (because that’s what an addict is), rather than saying CRACK WHORE over and over and over.
I was also really disappointed with the authors when they described one character’s bad teeth, saying that his disgusting teeth were a clear sign that he was a bad person. Actually, dental neglect is more indicative of a person’s access to basic medical care, which is also not a gauge of a person being good or bad. There are wonderful human beings in this world who can’t afford to get their teeth bleached, but still deserve respect. The same goes for how they described the man’s body odor, which likely meant he was experiencing homelessness, and is in no way related to his value as a human.
For these reasons (and more), I came to picture the authors as either very young and naive, or very old and ignorant. Some of the stupid things they wrote sound just like a bratty teen who thinks she’s the sh!t but is really embarrassing herself. And some of the things they wrote sound like something an old racist grandma would say.
Either way, out of touch.
The steam level did not make up for the poor writing/story.

This audiobook is neither “STEAMY” nor “HOLIDAY” so consider yourself warned.

I didn’t find these stories sexy, and it never had a Christmas feel to it. There were also a lot of very UNSEXY topics that were brought into these stories that seriously put my libido on ice, although there is zero chance of getting turned on listening to those ill-suited narrators.

Bah humbug…

I’m really pissed that I wasted a credit on this title. This book is included in a four book set that audible also sells for one credit. Don’t waste your money like I did! What a scam.

Jana Aston writes super sweet romance with deliciously dirty sex scenes. I’ve really enjoyed all of her books, and I think Erin Mallon is the PERFECT narrator for the heroines she writes—quirky women who enjoy sex as much as love and don’t do a very good job of hiding the silly inner dialogue we all have. Jason Clarke has the perfect British (and masculine) voice for our hero. The narration on this makes the audiobook well worth the credit!

This entire Perfect Gentlemen series blows me away! At the end of the day, each book is a LOVE STORY, but the journey feels like a gripping mystery. There’s a few erotic love scenes, which make the stories all the more thrilling. I would recommend any book in this series, and the performance by Kaleo Griffith is INCREDIBLE.

This is the first Sarah MacLean book I’ve listened to, and although I would have liked it to be a bit naughtier, I LOVED the love story. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in this series!

I really enjoy Sylvia Day’s writing, and it was so beautifully performed by Justine Eyre! She did an amazing job—even nailing the male voices and foreign accents of some characters. Her talented voice really added to the drama and sensuality of the story.
