I landed in hot water with the tabloids one too many times. What can I say? My nipple wanted to come out and say hi to the paparazzi. After that, my father presented me with an ultimatum—either he cuts off the gravy train and stops paying for my lavish lifestyle or I agree to have a live-in bodyguard. And by bodyguard, I mean a sexy, formidable, out-of-this-world babysitter who just happens to be good at breaking spines. Ransom Lockwood, ladies and gentlemen.

I really liked this story! I think it’s main focus was to show how anyone can feel like they don’t belong. It also highlights learning disabilities and childhood trauma. I always enjoy when both characters come in with baggage and find someone who is willing to love them regardless. I think they really brought out the best in each other. This is more of a darker read, but it did have some cute moments as well. Great banter between characters & the chemistry was intense. I know a lot of people will enjoy this one.

I’ll start with saying- my favorite book of 2022 was by Taylor so this is pretty painful for me. This was so freaking sad and honestly not my vibe. I love how she writes and that definitely didn’t change with this…however, the story just didn’t captivate me. The first chapter the main character loses her husband, so I was expecting it to go up from there. There is no going up! The entire book is about her grief. I felt it dragging along and I wanted to just get it over with. I read it on my kindle and purchased the audio version. Nothing helped me to truly enjoy it. I have loved all of her books besides, After I do. I’m thinking I am into her newer stuff, rather than the older. I’ve never been so up and down with an author before! I am so sure loads of people love this and the writing was beautiful! Just not for me. 🤍

Review✍🏻
I am not sure who recommended this book, but I’d like to remember because this book was not for me…& I’d love to tell them that! 😂I read another book from this author (Birthday girl) and though it was pretty freaking spicy, I felt the plot and story line were good to go with it. This book was just two crazy for me. I don’t want to give it away, but the main character ends up having a physical relationship with her “uncle” and two of her “cousins.” I guess this is not the trope or whatever the heck this is, that I’m into. I never thought I’d see the day where the spice was too much for me, but I honestly felt a bit sick reading this one. I don’t know if I should go into books blind after this. I’m shook. I am sure others will enjoy this, just wasn’t my vibe.

I read this in hopes it was like ACOTAR. It was a good book but unfortunately just not on that level. The plot had plenty of interesting parts that didn’t involve romance, which is always nice to see. I enjoyed the main female character being a bada** instead of a weak women who can’t do anything by herself. I also loved the whole falling in love with the very person you set out to destroy bit. I mean I assumed that would happened from the beginning, but I’m always shocked when it does. I really enjoyed the banter and how the loathing the other person turned into desire. It was a good fantasy for sure!

Historia
1828. Robin Swift, orphaned by cholera in Canton, is brought to London by the mysterious Professor Lovell. There, he trains for years in Latin, Ancient Greek, and Chinese, all in preparation for the day he’ll enroll in Oxford University’s prestigious Royal Institute of Translation—also known as Babel. Babel is the world's center for translation and, more importantly, magic. Silver working—the art of manifesting the meaning lost in translation using enchanted silver bars—has made the British unparalleled in power, as its knowledge serves the Empire’s quest for colonization.

I believe this will be an unpopular opinion. I will start by saying that I did enjoy parts of the book. I liked each characters back story being explained and how we got to know how each of them ended up in the same place. I enjoyed watching the main character grow and develop through out the novel. The fantasy aspect was my favorite part as I really enjoyed the bit of “magic” that was in it. To me this read like a text book, the writing was not my thing. On another note, this was an extremely drawn out book. There were huge gaps in time that nothing really happened and I was literally left wondering, “is something going to happen?” I think those moments started over taking the book until finally the end had a bit more pizzazz. The author seemed to reiterated the same message over and over again-the evil of Colonialism. She explained so many times the racism happening during this era…but I didn’t understand why she needed to keep explaining? It was evident from the very start. Some aspects of the book were a hit but all in all, it was a miss.
Maybe I wasn’t in the mood for such a heavy read. Maybe I’ll think back later and have different feelings.

I’m not even sure what I just finished!? This book was absolutely insane. I was so disturbed with this one. While on the surface level the characters seem either good or evil…if you take a deeper look the lines become a bit blurry. I found myself questioning every character, who do I trust? It was well written and I did enjoy that these characters were not people you actually liked. If an author can keep you interested while you can’t relate to any character, it’s a good book! The ending was unsettling because I felt maybe it went too far with the main character’s fight for revenge. How far is too far!?

This book started off pretty good! The story line was good and it looked promising. About half way through I realized it would literally just be one conversation the entire book( with the exception of a few chapters). This really ruined it for me. I think if the book was completely spilt with two pov’s it would have been amazing. I thought it had a lot of stereotyping in it too…which isn’t my thing. Did I hate it? No, it’s just the story lacked the extra features and details to make it great.

I wanted to lose myself in the small town of Pelion, Maine. To forget everything I had left behind. The sound of rain. The blood. The coldness of a gun against my skin. For six months, each breath has been a reminder that I survived—and my dad didn't. I'm almost safe again. But the moment I meet Archer Hale, my entire world tilts on its axis . . . and never rights itself again. Until I trespass into his strange, silent, and isolated world, Archer communicates with no one. Yet in his whiskey-colored eyes, something intangible happens between us.

This is probably an unpopular opinion😅
I finally took the plunge and read this! This was so hyped I didn’t know what to expect. I’m going to be honest and say I didn’t love it like most of the reviews I read. There were some parts where I was blown away and others were just underwhelming. I wouldn’t say it was bad, but honestly some things I was cringing. I love the small town vibes and how everyone knew everyone! I think it was a great representation of two people being deeply broken and coming together to heal. I felt the relationship was too fast and a bit rushed. Overall, It wasn’t my favorite but definitely not in a why did I bother category.
My favorite quote was “sometimes thats all it takes, one person who’s willing to listen to your heart, to the sound no one else has ever tried to hear.”

I read this book because I saw so many people really enjoyed it. I was worried it wouldn’t live up to the hype, but it turned out it was just as good as they said. I’ve recently become really into sports romance and this one hit the nail on the head. There were lots of diverse characters that really made the story unique, while still giving us the usual romance plot. The way the main characters fall in love with each other was so good- it reminded me of “The Deal” by Elle Kennedy so much! I’m ready for the next book! Also, the way the author wrote this fictional male was fire.🔥
