Historia
When Wayne and Kelly Maines adopted identical twin boys, they thought their lives were complete. But it wasn't long before they noticed a marked difference between Jonas and his brother, Wyatt. Jonas preferred sports and trucks and many of the things little boys were "supposed" to like; but Wyatt liked princess dolls and dress-up and playing Little Mermaid. By the time the twins were toddlers, confusion over Wyatt's insistence that he was female began to tear the family apart.

Oh my goodness!

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I myself am transgender, and listening to how this family grew with having a transgender daughter was eye opening. The truth is, being transgender is so very hard and it seems that there will always be people who are against you. But by persevering through the negativity and the muck, there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Never seen the movie, but I liked the book.
Revisado: 01-08-19
Like the title reads, I've never seen the Alien movie but I wanted to read the Audible Originals with the Alien series so I figured I see what happened in this story to get ready for that one. The voice acting was great and was beautifully rendered.

Revisado: 12-25-18
I can't remember if this book or the movie came out first but it was literally identical to the movie. I enjoyed it all the same though.

Historia
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. The Fault in Our Stars is insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw. It brilliantly explores the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Revisado: 11-25-18
I listened to this book on my trip from West Virginia to New York. There were many parts where I was full on crying and I had to compose myself many times. I'm happy for this book and sad at the same time.

Quentin Coldwater is brilliant but miserable. A senior in high school, he's still secretly preoccupied with a series of fantasy novels he read as a child, set in a magical land called Fillory. Imagine his surprise when he finds himself unexpectedly admitted to a very secret, very exclusive college of magic in upstate New York, where he receives a thorough and rigorous education in the craft of modern sorcery.

Tries to be something that it isn't
Revisado: 04-26-17
This book really didn't do much for me. I'm not going to spoil the ending but I'd be lying if I said I was happy with how it ended. I just didn't expect that to be how it would end at all. I tried my best not to compare it to other books with similar storylines but the similarities are just too close to mention. Overall I have to say that I enjoyed the book because a good book should make you feel emotions for the characters and there were quite a few parts I noticed where I had very noticeable feelings one way or another which I was happy to feel.

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

The Great Forest
Revisado: 07-25-16
This book took a while to get through. I have loved the other books in this series so far, and this one, albeit repetitive, still holds a dear place in my heart. The repetition about the great forest was what really put me off of this book. But, I've never written a book before so in my mind, Garth Nix did a great job of telling some of the back story for the previous book.

The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.
