The voice of the wife almost sent me over the edge. Modern day urban socialites meet Gone With The Wind. I have no idea why the choice was to swing the pendulum so far to make it unrealist but it was a hard listen. Don't let the sample fool you.

A very hard read and unbelievable storyline!

This audible started off promising but quickly turned into a very unrealistic plot and time line for an Solar event. It left me exhausted by the time the characters were a week into the event without pause to develop any real attachment to places or things.
These folks had the worst luck in the entire world or maybe the reader will if forced to finish this book.

This novel has it's ups and downs but a strong exaggeration of what it is like for POC growing up in an area that suddenly becomes sought after. The white characters seem to be one sheet short of being the Klan sans the love interest while the POC are present day BLM. Could of been more on trend and still a thriller!

Good pace with Naive Characters

I really enjoyed this audio book because the near raider kept me alert and ready to hear what would happen next but the main characters were very naive with the exception of the nanny. It is worth the read if you can buy this audio book on sale
