A very well thought out story
Revisado: 12-11-24
It's not a surprise to anyone familiar this author that we have an intricate and detailed world with well rounded characters. Kept me glued all the way through.
It begins with a mercenary soldier in a country not his own, but he is so much more than that. We get to watch him as he develops a crucial understanding of the place and it's people while getting an eye opening insight of his own country.
I would recommend this to adult readers or advanced young adult readers due to the complexity of ideals and the results of misconception. A Prime example of the gray area in a black and white world.

Historia
It’s been many moons since Ivypool lost her daughter, Bristlefrost, to the Dark Forest, yet Ivypool can’t bear to move on. Even being named Deputy of ThunderClan feels meaningless in her grief. When Whistlepaw has a disturbing vision—one that could spell disaster for all the Clans—a group of cats is selected to go on a quest to investigate. Ivypool is happy to join their mission. Perhaps being away from her daily responsibilities will help her escape the painful memory of Bristlefrost’s death.

Ivypool at her best
Revisado: 12-08-24
It was great to hear a story with Ivypool in a good spotlight. I feel that losing Bristlefrost the way we did was hard on all of us, and this helps with closure for us, the fans, too. You will enjoy this story. Has a freshness of plot as well as can be expected with cats going on a mission.

Historia
One minute, down-and-out actor Lorenzo Smythe is, as usual, in a bar, drinking away his troubles while watching his career circle the drain. Then a space pilot buys him a drink, and the next thing Smythe knows, he’s shanghaied to Mars. Smythe suddenly finds himself agreeing to the most difficult role of his career: impersonating an important politician who has been kidnapped. Peace with the Martians is at stake, and failure to pull off the act could result in interplanetary war.

A Heinlein Classic
Revisado: 03-28-22
I love this story.....but then I love almost everything I have ever read by Mr. Heinlein. In some ways, I would say this is a softer story than most, yet that isn't really it. The thing that is missing is the open sexuality that is prevalent in many of his books, but the story doesn't need it.
We begin with an arrogant, superficial actor who goes on an interesting and novel stage which changes his life from the inside out. His journey has many twists and turns, and, in Heinlein style, an unexpected ending. I recommend this book to young adult through adult readers, and of course, the few precocious youth who want to give it a go.

On Vega III, where the jaded inhabitants pursue lives of malicious intrigue and decadent pleasure, Lady Nimisha Boynton-Rondymense has always been an anomaly. Disdainful of the frivolity of her fellows, she prefers the exciting and challenging world of her father, Lord Tionel, owner and principal starship designer of the famous Rondymense shipyards.

The book is written for the young and young at heart reader. The story centers around Nimisha who is born into a very high ranking, aristocratic family. She is expected to be more a decoration than anything else, but Nimisha has talent and a drive to be so much more.

Best one yet.....
Revisado: 11-16-21
There were some very difficult story lines to be concluded with this book, and I believe they were handled very well indeed. Life isn't easy, and the loss of a loved one can be the hardest of them all.
I wouldn't recommend starting these stories with this book as it really does require a full background to achieve it's full impact.

Historia
In what is considered one of Heinlein's most hair-raising, thought-provoking, and outrageous adventures, the master of modern science fiction tells the strange story of an even stranger world. It is 21st-century Luna, a harsh penal colony where a revolt is plotted between a bashful computer and a ragtag collection of maverick humans, a revolt that goes beautifully until the inevitable happens. But that's the problem with the inevitable: it always happens.

My Favorite by Heinlein......
Revisado: 05-10-21
What can I say, Robert Heinlein at his best. A great story, well written, well told. A future that doesn't sound so distant anymore. The story is about the residents of Luna (the moon) populated originally as a prison and dumping ground for the unwanted populations of earth, must fight for their right to survive. Earth has been taking their natural resources without any replenishment, and treating them as slave labor. Soon there will be food riots, then cannibalism, unless they can convince Earth to listen. A power struggle that is mirrored by the consequences we are seeing on Earth today. A must read for ages 12 and up.

Historia
An air of pleasant anticipation hung so thickly over the Halls, Holds, and Weyrs of Pern that it had affected even the businesslike ways of Moreta, the Weyrwoman of Fort Weyr. Her dragon, Queen Orlith, would soon clutch; spring had made a glorious debut; the Gather at Ruatha Hold was extremely merry; and Moreta was enjoying the attentions of Alessan, the new Lord Holder of Ruatha Hold. Then, without warning, a runnerbeast fell ill.

I cried again.....
Revisado: 05-26-20
I have read all of Anne McCaffrey's Pern books so many times you would think I would be hardened to the end of "Moreta: A dragon Lady of Pern" by now, but it is not so. The story of Moreta is mentioned often throughout the other books, so the ending isn't a suprise, just very emotional. A well written story. I recommend this book to all fans of pern, and I recommend all of the Pern books to everyone who likes to read. I still wish someone would make a movie series now that we have the digital ability to do justice to the dragons and thread fighting.

I do not understand why they abridge Anne McCaffrey!
Revisado: 01-20-20
I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this book. This is one of my favorite stories, but I felt let down by this. It left too much out. I thought they were supposed to tell you when the book is abridged! Other than that, the reader did well.
