On my top 5 books list
Revisado: 07-02-21
I shall classify this book as one of my top 5. I have read many books during World War II, but have only read about how it affected England, Paris, etc. To read & understand how the war affected those in Germany was such a flip side of the coin. This to me is a must read!!

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Mindblowingly Awesome
Revisado: 02-03-19
This book was absolutely a gem! It was gripping, sad, happy, informative, addictive, etc. I also loved how the story intertwined with the biology of the marsh/swamp/ocean/living things within the environment. It added the understanding of the importance of different ecosystems to planet earth.
The narrator was so awesome, that I felt I actually connected & was sitting there watching the whole story unfold. The narrator made the characters & backdrop of the story come alive! I even ponder whether I would have enjoyed this book as much in a hard copy book over an audible copy. I honestly do not think so!

Revisado: 04-16-18
Ohhhh what a story! The way that Ms. Gaynor made everything about this book alive in your mind was so pure and so real! I not only loved the story, but I loved learning the history of these flower girls. The way that Ms. Gaynor described the life of a flower girl, just made you feel like you were right there walking next to these girls & what they all went through.

What a delightful book! I loved everything about this book! The characters just come alive in this book and you fall head over heels in love with Victoria and especially Stoker!! I love when I read a book that you want to never end! What's even nicer is there are more books to listen to in the series and the story goes on.
Angele Masters was a masterpiece!! Her narration was superbly done! She is perfect for this series!

Utterly splendid!
Revisado: 01-23-18
From the start of the book, I knew in my bones, that this was going to be a fantastic book! When I get that feeling, it becomes a very slow listen, as I want to take in every detail of Ms. Gaynor's intricate writing. And also, I do not want the book to end.
Oh and the narration is so wonderful! I love the soothing tones of both narrators.

How I loved this book!!
Revisado: 11-13-17
I really loved this book! I can't wait to listen to the other 2 books in the series. Please Audiobook, release the 3rd book as an audiobook! I will be devastated if I am not able to complete the series!!
The narrator was excellent! The story was not complicated, but very engrossing! I fell in love with all the characters (except one evil one) and I can't wait to read on to find out what has happened next!

I just love this book!! At the beginning, my mind strayed a little, as I just recently finished a really good book, so my mindset was not on this book, but still straying to the last book. But once I got on track, I am in love with this book!! As I have never read any of Sara Donati's books, I was surprised to find out that this book has ancestors from a previous book series that Sara has. Oh well, I know what my next 6 book series will consist of.....

Ever read a book that niggles at your mind, unable to stop listening & makes you laugh & cry? Well this is how I feel about Thornwood House. What a great listen this has been! The characters are so deep, yet many so lovable. Indescribable has been this listen! I'm not one for book series, but this is one book that I wish had a series of books to it. I will definitely listen to this book again later down the road.
