Alluring dark fantasy romance
Revisado: 03-21-25
Loved the feminine rage and taking down of the patriarchy 👏🏽. Such an atmospheric read. The slow burn romance was fantastic and the mysterious plot with gods and goddesses intriguing. And the narrators kept me captivated.

Heartbreaking and healing sequel
Revisado: 08-27-24
This one broke my heart so much for both Dianna and Samkiel. But it made me love them even more. Grief and the different ways people deal with it is explored thoroughly as is the slow path to healing. Samkiel’s truly unconditional love for Dianna stole my heart, his absolute acceptance of all she is. The plot is getting very intense and the world is expanding. I cannot wait to see the choices Dianna makes in the next one.

Amazing plot and morally grey characters
Revisado: 08-27-24
Here’s the thing. I’m obsessed with Samkiel and Dianna. Gods their true enemies to friends to lovers is done so freaking well. I mean are they even true enemies if one doesn’t chop off the other’s hand?? 😂 But also the mental health struggles are portrayed in a raw and brutally honest manner. Dianna comforting and taking care of Samkiel were some of my favorite moments. And Dianna’s absolutely selfless love for her sister 😭. The ending is absolutely brutal and I saw it coming but that didn’t make it hurt any less.
The epic plot and world building are crafted in a way to keep you intrigued but not overwhelm. I have so many theories 😂. Perfect for fans of Crescent City.

Cute and fun no-spice romance
Revisado: 05-21-24
This was a cute, no spice romance! The dual POV narration was fantastic. In terms of the story itself, it was very amusing and entertaining the idea of suing the book’s version of Disney! I was the kind of child that never saw herself in the Disney princesses but I can see how that can influence hopes and dreams. And expectations of future relationships. I think books did this for me 😂.
I had issues with the comparison of a previous love interest with the Beast being that the former was unattractive because of acne scars? Not vibing with that take. This might not be what the author was intending, but this is how it came across to me.
I have to say, Harrison fell fast and hard for Scottie. Poor guy is trying to fight a case against her but is so hopelessly in love 😂. I just feel like there weren’t enough interactions between them for him to fall so hard. I get insta-attraction but out of the courtroom they met like twice? I do appreciate that neither let their feelings get in the way of how they handled the case though. And we get a fairytale happy ending!
For full transparency, there are mentions of faith and religion as being important factors in the FMC’s life, however, this is not the focus of the story.

Addicting romantasy with unique magic system
Revisado: 05-12-24
I swear with every book in the Fae Isles series I love Creon and Em more and more. The mental health rep in this book is so incredibly well done. And I feel like we usually see the FMC struggling and the MMC supporting her through the hard days but I loved reading the opposite in this.
Em is so supportive of Creon’s struggles and advocates for him when no one else seems to understand the amount of suffering he’s endured and is constantly going through. I love how protective she is. Because I feel the same. Any time someone says something snarky about Creon, I’m ready to riot 🤣.
Also, love the snake animal companions! The audiobooks continue to be fantastic.

With war looming, Emelin's plan is simple: break the Mother's bindings while her more diplomacy-minded friends persuade the rest of the world to join their rebellion. Unfortunately, their would-be allies are far too concerned about Em's exact connection to the feared and hated Silent Death. They might risk their lives for the world's only unbound mage, but they'll never fight for a fae prince's puppet. Forced to hide the explosive secret of their love, Em and Creon journey to the plague-cursed continent to learn more about the bindings.

Fantastic romantasy with mental health rep
Revisado: 05-12-24
The magic system in this series was already so unique and the added dimension in this book with textures made it even more intriguing! The way the wielding of it is written and described is just so good and as a person who puts a lot of importance in the texture of fabrics, it was almost…soothing. I don’t know, it’s kinda hard for me to describe the feeling.
There is a lot of necessary character development that occurs in the book for every character. And sometimes the road is rough and I wanted to shake some sense into some of the characters. But the outcome is so worth it. That ending had me so happy 🥹. And eager to start the last book.
Also, Alyra!! She is such a spunky little bird companion and I loved her!

Captivating romantasy
Revisado: 04-23-24
Riveting start to what is gearing up to be an epic fantasy romance series! The audiobook is so captivating.
This has one of the most unique magic systems based on colors! I loved listening to the characters using their magic and it was described in such a captivating manner.
Oh sweet Creon. I’m not a hugger but I just wanted to hug him like 99.9% of the time. If you cannot resist a truly misunderstood, morally grey MC with a complicated past, you will love Creon. Em was a smart and clever FMC, rightfully suspicious but also realizing there had to be more to the story. She’s cunning and uses others’ perception of her as a weak human plaything against them in the best way.
The introduction of other creatures and characters had me very excited for book 2. And so glad it was already available. If you don’t like waiting for the second book to bring the spice, definitely add this one to your TBR 👀.

Cozy, charming, and romantic
Revisado: 03-04-24
What a truly charming book! Brimming with picturesque world-building reminiscent of national parks and a cozy, romantic atmosphere, I binged this audiobook in one day. The narrator is fantastic!
I adored Rose and Luc. Rose being a magical weapons master was something I’d never encountered in an FMC before, and I loved how badass she was. Luc appears grumpy and menacing but is really a cinnamon roll and supports her unconditionally. And Arie! A lovable, witty shapeshifting animal companion who’s definitely keeping secrets. And knows there’s nothing fake about Luc and Rose’s “fake relationship” 😂.
With hidden powers, meddling gods, and an ominous mist, the stakes are a bit higher yet make for a captivating, low-stress read.
