Historia
Einstein and the Quantum reveals for the first time the full significance of Albert Einstein's contributions to quantum theory. Einstein famously rejected quantum mechanics, observing that God does not play dice. But, in fact, he thought more about the nature of atoms, molecules, and the emission and absorption of light - the core of what we now know as quantum theory - than he did about relativity.

Historia
Paul Dirac was among the great scientific geniuses of the modern age. One of the discoverers of quantum mechanics, the most revolutionary theory of the past century, his contributions had a unique insight, eloquence, clarity, and mathematical power. His prediction of antimatter was one of the greatest triumphs in the history of physics.

Revisado: 07-24-18
Dirac was a very brilliant physicist and a unique individual, and his life’s story is presented in an engaging and entertaining manner. The history and early development of quantum mechanics, and the lives and personalities of Dirac and his cohort who founded it, are described in great detail. Highly recommended to those interested in Dirac, his contributions to physics, and to the formalization of quantum mechanics following Werner Heisenberg’s groundbreaking paper of 1925.

Useful and Clear Overview

Overall a very good explanation of these agile concepts. Recommended more for a review than for first time learners, as many different concepts are introduced without reinforcement. Rated 4/5 stars because when compared to other instructional works I've purchased from Audible, the net content (as reflected by duration) did not seem to warrant the cost of one full Audible credit - a half credit price would have earned this work a full five star rating from me.

Told in language we all can understand, A Brief History of Time plunges into the exotic realms of black holes and quarks, of antimatter and “arrows of time,” of the big bang and a bigger God — where the possibilities are wondrous and unexpected. Stephen Hawking brings us closer to the ultimate secrets at the very heart of creation.

Dr. Hawking takes us on an amazing journey across space-time, in scales from the incomprehensibly vast to the unimaginably tiny. This is a tour de force of reality as defined by our latest theories of physics. A must-read for anyone seeking answers to "why is the universe the way it appears to us to be?". Michael Jackson is an engaging lector, as well.

Historia
This landmark book is for those of us who prefer words to equations; this is the story of the ultimate quest for knowledge, the ongoing search for the secrets at the heart of time and space. Its author, Stephen W. Hawking, is arguably the greatest mind since Einstein. From the vantage point of the wheelchair, where he has spent the last 20 years trapped by Lou Gehrig's disease, Professor Hawking has transformed our view of the universe. A Brief History of Time is Hawking's classic introduction to today's most important scientific ideas.
