Historia
At twenty-six, Ivy has their life figured out. They have a decent-paying job at the London office of Somnus Entertainment—the gaming company behind the wildly popular game Black Oasis—a draughty flat they inherited from their wild great aunt, and a few select friends to pass the time. They're a responsible adult, thank you very much, and while they might get lonely at times, they know better than to put too much stock into that fanciful notion known as love.

Sweet, funny, heartbreaking, honest
Revisado: 03-02-25
Voice actor excellent. Thoughtful portrayal of nonbinary protagonist, and clever discussion of body image issues.

Beautiful story
Revisado: 12-22-24
This is far more complicated and interesting than a simple romance, far more science fiction and dystopian, and the kind of novel about being human that raises it to literature. But the romance or erotic content is central in a way authentic to the adolescents the characters are, Their gaze burns holes in each other’s clothes even as they reveal each other’s soul, with a delicate touch that is surprisingly tragic.
While somewhat explicit, clearly not written primarily as an erotic novel.

Historia
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

Vampires, magic swords, fae, fated mates, alchemy, romance predictable
Revisado: 12-08-24
Like: alchemy, mercury as conduit for magic and portals- creative.
Didn’t like: plucky 2 dimensional heroine with very improbable fighting skills and little self doubt, and would prefer a little more body diversity in both female and male characters- I’m not that in to Conan the Barbarian, like soccer player body more.
