Willa had a difficult life but a chance meeting with a kind woman gave Willa an opportunity to start a new life. Her journey as a mail order bride is filled with the ups and downs a new relationship presents itself. This was a good story filled with Christian values. The narrator made the story easy to listen to.

I had an afternoon available, so I looked for a Janice Cole Hopkins story. A MATCH FOR CORD is filled with excitement and twists and turns. Moriah is intent on not letting her beauty determine who she marries. I listened to the audio, and I loved the lesson of patience that Cord illustrated.

A great example of, "Home is where the heart is."
Revisado: 09-13-24
Homes is book two in Robyn Harling's Journeys Series. It continues to share the lives of Sarah and her adoptive father, Colt. They build a family of unique people who face life's difficulties together. This book is a prime example of how family does not need to be related by blood. I listened to the audio and enjoyed the narration.

Historia
Candace Joyner gets to her destination as a mail-order bride, only to find that her intended owns a saloon with working girls upstairs. Learning that he might eventually expect her to work for him, she hides under the tarp of a mountain man's wagon when he leaves town with his winter supplies. She's watched Jude Mason, and he appears to be kind, and most likely a Christian. She'd rather take her chances with him than with the dictatorial, unscrupulous saloon owner. But life on the mountain in the winter is tougher than she imagined.

A Friendship to Love Tale
Revisado: 09-11-24
Since this is a mail order bride story, I knew that Candace would become a bride. I didn't expect the twisted plot. Before his death, Candace's father thought he had secured her future. The groom was not the man her father thought him to be, so Candace made a hasty decision to get out of town as fast as possible. The reclusive mountain man who unknowingly helped her escape reluctantly grew to love her. Just when he has decided to walk away, the evil man reappears.

Mystery, Suspense, and Romance
Revisado: 03-11-24
Janice Cole Hopkins penned a great book in Annette's Assignment, part of The Suffrage Spinster Series. Annette reluctantly agrees to help her policeman cousin gather information about suspected criminal activity. She enters a contest of great minds and things get complicated. Living with her grandfather and being actively involved in the Suffrage Movement adds interesting components to Annettee's Assignment. This story has it all, mystery, suspense, and romance.
I listened to a gifted audio version. Adam Skousen was brilliant. He brought unique voices to all of the characters.

Revisado: 11-26-23
Janice Cole Hopkins delivers a well written, entertaining book in Lily. I listened to the audio and LB Neibnaour brought the characters to life.
Lily was a young girl with many bumps in her life. She overcomes a failed relationship, a family move to a new life, and a sister making poor decisions. She almost lost her faith in God and men.

A story filled with the power of forgiveness!
Revisado: 07-10-23
This is my first Barbara Goss story, and I loved the way she shared with us how Maria overcame abandonment as a child, being robbed of her innocence, and being forced to make terrible decisions just to survive. Along the way Maria is helped by caring people. She even finds love, though not where she expected. The author penned a story filled with the beauty of love and the power of God's forgiveness.
I was gifted the audio version and the narrator, Christopher Macky, did an excellent job.

Just the right mix of good and bad people!
Revisado: 06-30-23
Journeys by Robyn Hardling is a compelling tale of two life journeys. The first journey is that of a young girl. Winnie is a hopeful child. As a young teenager, Winnie makes bad decisions. Her journey across the country is filled with excitement. When she arrives at the opposite coast Winnie meets Colt. Colt and Winnie's daughter, Sarah, make a journey back across the country to bring this story full circle.
I enjoyed the short listen. The characters are true to the time period. Overall, definitely a five star. I only gave the performance a four star because I felt the narrator struggled a little with distinguishing the different characters. The narration is still a good performance.
Thank you, Robyn Harding, for the opportunity to listen.
