i loved it. as mentioned in the other reviews
, it is more a non fiction book than fiction. there is no story line, just scientific problem after another. sometimes exciting, but I found a lot of the book redundant. it should have been titled " how to escape Mars in 1.5 years" and written only from the Martian's view point. what happens on earth is irrelevent to the core of the story.

The bool is more emotional than anything else. do not expect a sciwntific analysis of racism through out time, this is a man's tale of overcoming what was thought to him as a child, a man's way of bettering what he was exposed to before passing the knowledge to his son. you go with Coates through many stages of his life while he maintains a central focus around the "Mecca" AKA Howard University in DC. As a person born out of the US, I was not able to relate to a lot these issues because they were only expressed on an emotional level, while Coates seems to be more than capable of making logical deductions based on facts. I really wish soon we will be able to find enough common ground amongst all nationalities and races to make the content of this book trully historical.

Neil gaiman tells the immigration story through symbolic gods and mystical locations. a great read but don't elevate your expectations. i would have liked this better if Neil Gaiman read the whole thing.

great read. easy to understand and easy to follow. lacks scientific experiments and use cases of the proposed methods and concepts. the authors do a great job organizing the book, this is great if one already is faced with a change in the corporate world and has no idea about the recent trends, but fails to lay out the ground for managing those changes. How to adapt remains the unaswered question all around. although case studies are presented in supporting of the proposed theories, the book lacks analysis on these case studies. overall a great source of information, it might be dissapointing for someone who is already familiar with the concepts.

Duhigg has a way with steucturing his books. concepts that one might find boring are brought to life through a personal connection to examples. Chamberlain is a gread performance always, although I listen to him at 2x. comparing this with " power of habit ", it's less mesmorising, but a better conduit of information that can be used everyday.
Duhigg educates the reader about peoductivity concepts through engaging and very interesting case studies. From avaition stories that keep you at the edge of your seat to a poker champion who all have come in touch with the methods Duhigg is describing. The book itself is surely a peoduct of the concepts discussed in it, its never tiring and you will want to listen to the last word.

Eggers paints a pixle perfect futuristic image of our world today with a touch of exageration. His writing is witty, modern and relatable. Graham delivers a great performance by narrating each charactor's sorty and views consistently throughout the book. There are many "teachable moments" in the book, Eggers seem to have a good grasp on the dynamics of technology and social behavior and educates the readers on concepts like social media and transparency through fictionous events. The book has a unique pace to it and it seems to be event driven more than anything else. Eggers' portrait of Mae, an out of college bright CS professional, although is realistic, but lacks depth when it comes to Mae's emotions. This is also true for othe characters in the book, this would dissapoint the drama seeking readers. At the same time, Eggers' logical correlation between and within characters is spotless and keeps the reader interested in the events of the book. Eggers is also exteremly competent at painting corporate relations and the modern corporate culture, although this may be a premature concept at the time, Eggers seem to have a view from a distance that gives hime the tool deliver consistency when describing current day event. 4 out of 5 starts for Eggers and 5 stars for Graham. very much recommended.

the performance is amazing. i only cried at the end of 20 chapters. a solid and yet predictable story line but the writer's expertise makes each scene increadibly entertaining. far far away from perfection, but it does have way into your hearth. listen and enjoy
