I’m so excited for this new series! I finished this book in one day and can’t wait for the next one. Thanks, Franklin, for another great series.

Can’t wait for book 2! I love that it’s Christian based, and my kids can listen in without worry. Thanks, Mr. Goodwin, for another great book, and Kevin Pierce for another great listen!

I was listening to this on a road trip and had to pull over to write this review.

Narration: Kevin Pierce is nicknamed The Voice of the Apocalypse for a reason. He’s fantastic as always, and I could listen to him read the phone book. I’m so glad he was chosen to read this series.

The story: Mr. Schow is officially off my Christmas card list with this book. His books are gritty, and most certainly not fairy tales that leave you feeling happy.
However, if S ever does HTF, what he describes is more realistic than 95% of the other post-apoc books out there. He doesn’t sugar coat, he doesn’t leave you with a sense of well-being. He slaps you square in the face with a dose of reality, and he doesn’t check his blow.
As I’ve traveled along with the Dimas family, they’ve become my family. I have fought and cried and struggled and mourned with them as they battle their way through their new world.
Schow has a way of pulling you into his stories, of painting such vivid scenes that you can picture it all as it happens. His characters are human, they find strength they didn’t know they had, they falter and break down and they make stupid mistakes, just like the majority of us will if ever faced with a reality like he’s created. Yet they find the will to keep moving forward. He also shows us how far you might be pushed when faced with the choices of either giving up and dying, or refusing to go down and fighting to survive against all odds.
I appreciate this book because it’s made me think about whether I’m prepared to go the lengths they did to survive. The answer I found is, yes. I am.

I highly recommend this series.

So, Mr. Ryan Schow, I look forward to book 5, but I’m still mad at you right now.

I prefer finding a series that is almost complete or is complete, because if I really like it, I want to binge listen to the whole thing at once.
I really, really like this series, and I’m sad there’s only 2 out so far. Carey has done a great job coming up with an idea that’s a little different from the other PA novels. Arks. What an interesting idea. It’s a good cautionary tale on picking those around you wisely.
Vince and Liz are my favorite characters so far, Matthew makes me want to shake him every time he talks, and Kate. Oh, Kate. What are you thinking?

Can’t wait for the next book! Thanks, D.A, for sharing a little of Kentucky with someone who longs to move there RIGHT NOW, and even swinging by my town on the group’s way to the Texas Ark.

This book had me captivated from the beginning, and now I’m mourning the fact that I have to wait for a second book.

Bobby is my all time favorite post apoc author. I’m so anxious for his next book, and this series is no different. Please keep up the quality work, Bobby!

The story is great, but can you please stop using Bronson as a narrator? He’s not horrendously awful, but that dragging, nail on chalkboard interpretation of a “Southern drawl” is freaking annoying. At least, I suppose that’s the accent he’s going for.

The story line is good, I like the characters. I recommend this book, just maybe the written book, unless you’re a huge BP narration fan.

The promising beginning to another great series, Bobby! My only complaint? It was too short!! Thank God you only leave us hanging a month. I’d cry if I had to wait a year for the next book. Loved it!

I thought the Lone Star series would always be my favorite, since it's set in my location, and the details are familiar to me. Then I read/listened to Yellowstone. Seriously, where are you getting your inspiration, and why did you wait so long to share them with us? Yellowstone is a masterful novel, full of information that had me researching volcanoes, fault lines, and how close, exactly, I am to any active threats. I am in awe of your writing and story telling abilities. Thank you for not only entertaining me, but informing me, and pushing me to look around at the world I thought I knew with fresh new eyes. I can't wait for book 2!

Perhaps, because it's set in the area I live in, shop in, and drive on a daily basis, but I love this series. The twists and actions kept me listening, and anticipating the next book in the series. For as fast as Akart pumps his book series out, his books are extremely well researched and written. I have enjoyed all of them, to date. I hope he has a lot more in him to write and share, because I'm looking forward to them!
