Historia
Newly elected, Jack Ryan has found that being President is not easy: domestic pitfalls await him at every turn; there's a revolution in Liberia; the Asian economy is going down the tubes; and now, in Moscow, someone may have tried to assassinate the chairman of the SVR - the former KGB - with a rocket-propelled grenade. Were the potential assassins political enemies, the Russian Mafia, or disaffected former KGB? Or is something far more dangerous at work here?

Historia
It's a fear more paralyzing than falling. More terrifying than absolute darkness. More horrifying than anything you can imagine. It's the one fear you cannot escape, no matter where you run...no matter where you hide. It's the fear of yourself. It's real. It can happen to you. And facing it can be deadly.

Revisado: 11-06-20
I my 5th Koontz book. I got this because I had a long drive and it's a long book. Bad idea. The story was weak. It drones on and on. Over explaining small details that are not needed. but it fills up space and time. The narrator was very, very good. The problem was with what he was reading. It's just not a good book. And that's OK. No one beats 1000.

Historia
Do you dare step through the red door? Spencer Grant had no idea what drew him to the bar with the red door. He thought he would just sit down, have a slow beer or two, and talk to a stranger. He couldn’t know that it would lead to a narrow escape from a bungalow targeted by a SWAT team. Or that it would leave him a wanted man. But now Spencer is on the run from mysterious and ruthless men. He is in love with a woman he knows next to nothing about. And he is hiding from a past he can’t fully remember.

Its long
Revisado: 07-24-20
the story was ok. The narrator was very good. The writing was too drawn out. While trying to set up the scene, the author seems to be over writing. His descriptions are just too long. i found myself fast forwarding in 30 second chunks, and he was still describing the same scene. There's only so many ways to picture a rock formation. It shouldn't take 3 minutes. Sometimes less is more. It was just over done. And the story line lost it's way
The ending was done hastily. After listening to 21 hours, I expected a more dramatic ending. It was bland at best. Not Deans best work.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

No place for politcs
Revisado: 04-04-20
I figured with all the chaos happening in everyday life I'd listen to a good horror/mystery. While the story wasn't bad, (personally I think the author is over rated) and the narrator did a nice job with all the characters, the author shows how childish he is while jamming his ultra leftwing political views in a story that didn't need it. He was cunning enough to wait until the last 30 minutes or so, but by then the story was droning on and I was disinterested enough to just stop listening. I don't know how the story ended, and I didn't care to know. Yet another liberal who can't just do their job, but have to preach to people who don't care what their political views are.

Great listen

Loved the story. Read perfectly. Thoughtful, suspenseful, and believable. I can usually surmise the outcome of most books halfway through
but this one held my attention to the very end. Well worth a listen.

Story was bad. Narrator was excellent.
Revisado: 01-31-20
WOW. What a disappointment. Forced sexual innuendos written like a horny teenager that add zero to the story. Misplaced smartass comments by the mail character are distracting and totally out of place ie..using the answer of "right" at least a hundred times. Then the displaced, disjointed, disappointing ending. It's hard to believe this is from the same author who wrote The Lion Game. One of the best books to listen to ever. The only good thing about this audio book is the narrator. Its perfectly read. The problem is with the book he's reading.

A bit biased
Revisado: 05-08-19
This narrator is the best. Liberal bias against capital punishment was a bit much for me. The author seems to forget the crimes of the subject and tries a bit too hard to make him a victim. Good listen though.
