Historia
Stephanie Kelton's brilliant exploration of modern monetary theory (MMT) dramatically changes our understanding of how we can best deal with crucial issues ranging from poverty and inequality to creating jobs, expanding health care coverage, climate change, and building resilient infrastructure. Any ambitious proposal, however, inevitably runs into the buzz saw of how to find the money to pay for it, rooted in myths about deficits that are hobbling us as a country.

Don't agree with the author, but well written
Revisado: 07-19-20
I don't believe mmt is the solution, but the author presents the fundamentals of mmt in a logical and clear way. A great book to read if you want to understand mmt proponents.

Revisado: 04-17-18
While much of what I heard wasn't new to me, the way it was presented was great. 7 clear steps and a free tool to utilize to create your storybrand. After listening to the book I felt this is a method I want to use and implement in our business, so today I also got a hard copy of it.

Historia
It is now 100 years since drugs were first banned in the United States. On the eve of this centenary, journalist Johann Hari set off on an epic three-year, 30,000-mile journey into the war on drugs. What he found is that more and more people all over the world have begun to recognize three startling truths: Drugs are not what we think they are. Addiction is not what we think it is. And the drug war has very different motives to the ones we have seen on our TV screens for so long.

Technology is bringing disruptive change at an ever-increasing pace, creating fear and uncertainty that leaves buyers clinging to the status quo.

Surprised about how great it was
Revisado: 02-23-18
I've listened to a bunch of sales books. Most of the time they're worth a listen, but not great. So that's what I expected from sales eq. However, I was surprised. The book feels very complete for the sales process, and I like that it's referring to behavioral science. Not sure if it brings up a lot of new stuff, but it ties it all together in a great way. Most definitely worth your time!

Historia
Throughout his long career as an economic forecaster, Harry Dent has relied on a not-so-secret weapon: demographics. Studying the predictable things people do as they age is the ultimate tool for understanding trends. Dent shows that if you take the time to understand demographic data, using it to your advantage isn’t all that difficult. By following his suggestions, listeners will be able to find the upside to the downturn and learn how to survive and prosper during the most challenging years ahead.

Gave up after about half the book
Revisado: 12-07-17
Sure, everything is clear with 20/20 hindsight. However, main thing I couldn't stand is that he tried to cover as many years as possible in his predictions "it will happen in 2014, or 2015, but no later than 2016" and boast how certain he is, but was still wrong. Dealing with predictions is dealing with uncertainty, hence, you'll not be 100% certain, so better not sound like you are.
To be fair, some interesting stuff about demographics. Unfortunately, I was too turned off to finish the book.

In When Churchill Slaughtered Sheep and Stalin Robbed a Bank, the second installment in his outrageously entertaining series, History's Unknown Chapters, Giles Milton shows his customary historical flair as he delves into the little-known stories from history, like when Stalin was actually assassinated with poison by one of his inner circle; the Russian scientist, dubbed the "Red Frankenstein", who attempted to produce a human-ape hybrid through ethically dubious means; and much more.

If you liked "when Hitler took cocaine and Lenin lost his brain" you can just click the buy button. This book is as golden as that.
If you haven't listened to that book, give this a chance anyway. It's golden nuggets of history. Mostly in 1900s and each story is both interesting and the author makes it entertaining with his writing and narration.

The first installment in Giles Milton's outrageously entertaining series, History's Unknown Chapters: colorful and accessible, intelligent and illuminating, Milton shows his customary historical flair as he delves into the little-known stories from the past. There's the cook aboard the Titanic, who pickled himself with whiskey and survived in the icy seas where most everyone else died. There's the man who survived the atomic bomb in both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And there's many, many more.

Historia
The New York Times best-selling author heralds the future of business in Free. In his revolutionary best seller, The Long Tail, Chris Anderson demonstrated how the online marketplace creates niche markets, allowing products and consumers to connect in a way that has never been possible before. Now, in Free, he makes the compelling case that, in many instances, businesses can profit more from giving things away than they can by charging for them.

Like on buck books you shouldn't have to pay more
Revisado: 03-07-16
Than a buck for this book. That's about how much new value it gives you. There are some interesting ideas shared in between all the self-promotion and cross-promotion of his other books and the 100 other ppl have already said the same thing in their book.
It's a decent book, short, sweet and fun, but not worth more than a buck.
