Historia
Michael Beard is a Nobel prize-winning physicist whose best work is behind him. Trading on his reputation, he speaks for enormous fees, lends his name to the letterheads of renowned scientific institutions and half-heartedly heads a government-backed initiative tackling global warming. A compulsive womaniser, Beard finds his fifth marriage floundering. But this time it is different: she is having the affair, and he is still in love with her.

What a horrible man.
Revisado: 03-18-13
Would you listen to Solar again? Why?
Yes. I enjoyed the very descriptive details of the main characters thoughts.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Solar?
I did laugh out loud a number of times at how awful he was.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
He spoke just the way I imagined a larger man who beleived he was superior to those around him would speak.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed a lot in this book. He really was so awful a man.
Any additional comments?
Do men really think as this main character does?

Historia
From terror attacks to the War on Terror, bursting real-estate bubbles to crystal meth epidemics, sexual predators to poisonous toys from China, our list of fears seems to be exploding. And yet, we are the safest and healthiest humans in history. Irrational fear is running amok, and often with tragic results. In the months after 9/11, when people decided to drive instead of fly - believing they were avoiding risk - road deaths rose by 1,595. Those lives were lost to fear.

What is the probability?
Revisado: 03-18-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The amount of data and numbers was sometimes difficult to digest. Pictures do make it easier.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I thought the format was good. To the point and not a lot of 'fluffing'.
What didn’t you like about Scott Peterson’s performance?
He was good.
Do you think The Science of Fear needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No. We all need to sit back and ask the question. What is the probability of that bad experience happening to me..

Historia
Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness... He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me.

Historia
Gideon Cross: As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction…my every desire…mine. My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful…except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession.…

Why we love flawed characters.
Revisado: 02-14-13
If you could sum up Reflected in You in three words, what would they be?
Intense. Hot. Interesting.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Gideon was the hard edged sexy man we all lust for. His vulnerabilities and his obsessive need for his woman just made him even better.
What does Jill Redfield bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She had the ability to make all her males voices sound realistic. Something that other female narrators have difficulty with. She was great.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Extreme reaction yes. I didnt want it to end..
