Historia
Florence Grimes is a thirty-one-year-old party girl who always takes the easy way out. Single, broke and unfulfilled after the humiliating end to her girl band career, she has only one reason to get out of bed each day: her ten-year-old son Dylan. But then Alfie Risby, her son’s bully and the heir to a vast frozen food empire, mysteriously vanishes during a class trip, and Dylan becomes the prime suspect. Florence, for once, is faced with a task she can’t quit: She’s got to find Alfie and clear her son’s name, or risk losing Dylan forever.

Stick with the print edition
Revisado: 03-17-25
I have over 100 books in my Audible library and this is the worst narration I have ever heard. What is supposed to be a smart and sarcastic narrative is read in an annoying monotone that completely destroyed the book's vibe. Don't judge All the Other Mothers Hate Me by the audiobook, read the the print edition.

Historia
In the frigid summers of the Antarctic continent, the sun never sets, and Olivia Campbell has long dreamed of spending a sunlit night in this beautiful, remote place. So when her boyfriend—a high-powered art dealer with a taste for the finer things in life—decides to stage an ostentatious, career-making auction aboard a luxury cruise liner to Antarctica, Olivia can hardly believe her luck. That is, until the ship sets sail and her boyfriend is nowhere to be found, and she is left to manage both the auction and her own creeping fear of the open ocean entirely alone.

Narrator is unintelligible

I can't review this book because the narrator's exaggerated, over the top Scottish accent was almost impossible to understand.

Historia
Opal is a lot of things—orphan, high school dropout, full-time cynic and part-time cashier—but above all, she's a determined to find a better life for her younger brother Jasper. One that gets them out of Eden, Kentucky, a town remarkable for only two things: bad luck and E. Starling, the reclusive nineteenth century author of The Underland, who disappeared over a hundred years ago. All she left behind were dark rumors—and her home. Everyone agrees that it’s best to ignore the uncanny mansion and its misanthropic heir, Arthur. Almost everyone, anyway.

Horrible, Not Horrifying
Revisado: 10-31-23
I didn't bother to listen to the end. The story was totally unoriginal, the characters were dull, and it was waaay toooo loooong. No chills here.
The narrator did a good job but Starling House is not worth your time.

BEST THRILLER EVER
Revisado: 08-16-23
The Last One seems to be one of those loved it or hated it books. I loved the originality. The plot twists had me exclaiming "oh my God!" and "you little b****!" out loud.
The plot isn't neatly resolved with all questions answered, which may be why it's not for everyone, but if you're willing to suspend your disbelief and enjoy this thrill ride, it's amazing.
The audiobook narrator isn't the best. Her rendition of the characters' accents was cringe worthy. I'd recommend the print version instead.

Historia
Newlyweds Keith and Kit Collins can hardly believe their luck when the general manager of the iconic, opulent Pink Hotel invites them to come for a luxurious stay as a bid to hire Keith. Kit loves their small-town life, but Keith has always wanted more, and the glittering, lily-scented lobby makes him feel right at home. Soon after their arrival, wildfires sweep through the surrounding mountains and Los Angeles becomes a pressure cooker, with riots breaking out across the city amid rolling blackouts.

Awful
Revisado: 10-01-22
I couldn't finish The Pink Hotel. From the reviews I expected a taut mix of social commentary and a dystopian vision of Los Angeles. Instead, it's a dull, plotless mess about hotel management with forgettable characters. The Pink Hotel might interest those in the hospitality business but for me it was an unbearable slog.

Historia
After a childhood spent on Hollywood film sets, Meghan Markle fought hard for stardom. But even when she landed her breakthrough role on Suits, her dream of worldwide celebrity remained elusive until she met the man who would change her life—Prince Harry. Their whirlwind romance culminated with Meghan’s ultimate fairy tale ending: their 2018 wedding at Windsor Castle. Finally, the world was her stage. It seemed that the dizzying success of the wedding between the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex marked the beginning of a fresh era for the British Royal Family.

Hooliganism by layabouts
Revisado: 09-22-22
Revenge gets off to a slow start with an in depth look at Meghan's excruciating search for fame and fortune before she collided with her dimwitted, self-pitying prince. But once the narrative gets going it's a hoot, with Harry's appalling family and Meghan's clan that are straight out of a TLC reality show.
My only question is why Harry, who boasts of his he-man military service in Afghanistan, stood by like a wimp while his family (allegedly) made his wife's life a living hell. Tom Bower doesn't address this issue but neither, apparently, did anyone else.
Although Meghan comes off as the villain in this version of the Sussex debacle, I couldn't help feeling sorry for a young woman so desperate for a perfect Instagram life. Before the end of this decade the prince and the money will no doubt be gone and Meghan will be just another B-lister trying to get mentioned in the tabloids.

Historia
On a cold, misty Sunday night, two women are alone in the offices of fashion conglomerate Claudine de Martineau International. One is the company’s human resources director. Impeccably dressed and perfectly coiffed, she sits at her desk and stares somberly out the window. Down the hall, her colleague, one of the company’s lawyers, is buried under a pile of paperwork, frantically rushing to finish. Leaving at the same time, the two women, each preoccupied by her own thoughts, enter the elevator that will take them down from the 30th floor.

Trash
Revisado: 05-15-22
The title description made this sound like a domestic thriller. Instead it's a trashy. cartoonish story about sex trafficking with buffoonish villains and a clueless heroine. I couldn't finish it.

Historia
England, 1585. In Kit Marlowe's last year at Cambridge, he is approached by Queen Elizabeth's spymaster offering an unorthodox career opportunity: going undercover to intercept a Catholic plot to put Mary, Queen of Scots on Elizabeth's throne. Spying on Queen Mary turns out to be more than Kit bargained for, but his salary allows him to mount his first play, and over the following years he becomes the toast of London's raucous theater scene.

Good novel, poor history
Revisado: 04-30-22
Your enjoyment of this novel will depend on your tolerance for the author's reinvention of Christopher Marlowe. The real Marlowe was a total badass and probably not a very nice guy - but hey, he was a genius. Allison Epstein transforms him into a sensitive wimp and invents a love affair to make him more sympathetic. I would have preferred a more true to life portrayal.
The narration, however, is first rate.
