Historia
Inside our military is a team of operators whose work is so secretive that the name of the unit itself is classified. Highly-trained in warfare, self-defense, infiltration, and deep surveillance, "the Unit," as the Department of Defense has asked us to refer to it, has been responsible for preventing dozens of terrorist attacks in the Western world. Never before has a member of this unit shared their story — until now.

Woke and preachy
Revisado: 04-12-24
Comparing J6 to 911 is all you need to know. Typical liberal trope, military is too white, not diverse enough, J6 was white, flag waving insurrection. I wouldn’t go to his home country of Egypt and say it’s too brown. No mention of Antifa tearing cities apart. No mention of Biden’s horrific pull out of Afghanistan. I returned it and got my credit back.

I waa busy when I first started listening to this book. I heard about sex she had with a guy. As the other reviewer states, she kept talking about being raped. I literally had to rewind because I thought I missed the rape part of the book. Nope. I didnt. I'm not saying she wasnt raped, but the way she described it sounded like a couple who went to far and she wasnt mature enough to handle it. I was hoping for another PCT trail book like Wild. This isnt even close.

Historia
In a fit of idealism, Ed Boland left a 20-year career as a non-profit executive to teach in a tough New York City public high school. But his hopes quickly collided headlong with the appalling reality of his students' lives and a hobbled education system unable to help them. Freddy runs a drug ring for his incarcerated brother; Nee-cole is homeschooled on the subway by her brilliant homeless mother; Byron's Ivy League dream is dashed because he is undocumented. In the end, Boland isn't hoisted on his students' shoulders and no one passes AP anything.

Did you like the book? Yes But...
Revisado: 03-06-16
Yes, I really enjoyed this book. Ed told his story with humor and compassion. I found myself laughing out loud through out the story. It's heartbreaking to hear how some kids in our country are being raised.
But... He managed to hit on all of the liberal talking points...everyone was homophobic in the early 80s...the military is looked down upon....2 wars that were unjustified and illegal. He did mention Obama hasn't done anything about poverty, but that is low hanging fruit. No president will handle that hot potato. The most egregious mistake was whitewashing the teachers union in ruining our education system. Each year they give about 90% of their money to liberal causes that has nothing to do with helping kids. In 2007 that was 80 million dollars. That would help a lot of kids.
Until we have politicians who really want change, and have the courage to make it happen, our education system in the US will continue to be broken.

For the last 16 years, Sue Klebold, Dylan's mother, has lived with the indescribable grief and shame of that day. Heartbreaking
Revisado: 02-21-16
After seeing the headlines, it was nice to hear thr back story. We all know how the mefia distorts things. This book untangles the misinformation surrounding the event. I am a mother of 2 boys and know how easily influenced they are. This book was well written and Sue did an excellent job reading. This one one of the best books I've listened to in a while.

Historia
In 2007, Dr. Martin MacNeill - a doctor, lawyer, and Mormon bishop - discovered his wife of 30 years dead in the bathtub of their Pleasant Grove, Utah, home, her face bearing the scars of a facelift he had persuaded her to undergo just a week prior. At first the death of 50-year-old Michele MacNeill, a former beauty queen and mother of eight, appeared natural. But days after the funeral, when Dr. MacNeill moved his much younger mistress into the family home, his children grew suspicious.
