Historia
It has been three decades since Nirvana upended the pop cultural landscape with Nevermind, the landmark album that became the soundtrack of Generation X, capturing its confusion, frustration, and passion. In 1993, Michael Azerrad published what stands as the definitive biography of this revolutionary band and its star-crossed leader Kurt Cobain. Written with the band’s complete cooperation—the only book to feature interviews with Cobain, bassist Krist Novoselic, and drummer Dave Grohl—it became a massive bestseller and, in the words of Cobain, "the best rock book I’ve ever read.”

Fascinating. A book about writing a book
Revisado: 01-16-25
I never read the original book and I knew nothing about the original book before reading this.
I thought, what an excellent idea; writing a book that tells the story of writing & releasing a major book. It's not a retread of the original material, it's a "making of" story - and I love procedural stories and cultural events. it has some updates & clarifications on the new material. I wanted to hear more about some controversial topics but he probably covered that in the original book.
This is a ready-to go movie script or episodic tv series. It would be a great way to tell the story of Nirvana without making another biopic or band approved script.

Historia
Mafia Prince is the first-person account of one of the most violent eras in Mafia history - "Little" Nicky Scarfo’s reign as boss of the Philly family in the 1980s - written by Scarfo’s underboss and nephew, "Crazy" Phil Leonetti. The youngest-ever underboss at the age of 31, Leonetti was at the crux of the violent downfall of the traditional American Mafia in the 1980s when he infiltrated Atlantic City after gambling was legalized, and later turned state’s evidence against his own.

The best narrated audiobook I've ever heard and the most well written mafia novel I've ever read.
Revisado: 03-26-24
Outstanding and one of the greatest endings I've ever heard and brilliantly delivered by the narrator. I've listened to this book a dozen times. Phillip is such a great storyteller and fascinating character. I bought 4 other books featuring the narrator, simply to hear him. I wish he did every decent mafia book, he's gifted for this genre.

Historia
As an only child reeling from the demolition of her parents’ toxic marriage, the New York City underground music scene offers a young Ali a different family of misfits and talented outsiders to belong to. She becomes the bass player for edgy band Speedball Baby, a decision that will take her around the world—from onstage at the legendary CBGBs to the red-light district of Amsterdam. She’s often the only girl in a broken-down tour van, being strip-searched at the Croatian border, chased by lunatics, and navigating the seedy underbelly of a male-dominated music scene.

I don't know which is better, her writing or narration.
Revisado: 02-22-24
Wow, what an outstanding book. it's so much sweeter given Speedballbaby was my JAM, I'm taking, listened to them endlessly...in the car, at home, requested they were played at Bars, even my friends new me for loving Speedball Baby and John Spencer Blues Explosion. Hell, a big reason I moved to New York was in hopes of seeing them play. Anyway, knowing the band is completely irrelevant. This is an outstanding book and if it hasn't already been optioned for a movie or series, it will be. Outstanding writing.

Sound fx, great voice acting, rich detail ambiance
Revisado: 10-13-20
I love these rich sound fx radio plays. The BBC is a bore, please more of these rich sound styles. A WW2 spy & resistance series of this type would be a dream come true!!!
