Historia
It's summertime, and the weather on Hank's West Texas ranch is hot and dry. So dry, in fact, that everyone is on the lookout for prairie fires. So Hank bravely adds the title of Head of Fire Safety to his already impressive list of responsibilities and gets to work. But patrolling for fires is dull, and it's hard to do on an empty stomach. Despite the distractions - desperate hunger, a cruel trick at the hands of Pete the Barncat - Hank somehow manages to stay focused on the job at hand.

Another Great Story.

Another example of great story writing, and story telling. I wish someone would make a movie out of one of his books.

This Explains A lot.
Revisado: 06-24-23
He explained how he grew up with a very verbal family. How he tried to continue the story telling tradition.
I'm so glad that there are some people still around that actually can survive without a cell phone tied to there arm, or a laptop telling them what to do and when. If you grew up and lived in the country during the 20th century then his stories are going to ring true, and you won't be able to stop laughing at all the good intentional screw ups Hank and Drover fall into over and over again.

Historia
With over two million copies of his works in print, Patrick McManus is an accomplished humor author. In The Bear in the Attic, he once again invites listeners to peek into his unique perspectives on life and his favorite topic, the great outdoors. Here listeners are treated to amazingly absurd tales of young male hijinks, camping mishaps and neighbor-eating bears! Norman Dietz adds another dimension to McManus' humor with his brilliant comic narration.

Loved Pat's stories for years.
Revisado: 06-18-17
I have been reading his stories from the early 80's. I had a few autographed in High School. Some of the ways he approached his " Life Experiences" growing up made me laugh, because they were almost identical to what my friends and I did.
Growing up in a very-very small town with only one channel on the t.v. Back then you had to entertain yourself. Thank goodness almost all of us survived to be belittled by our own children. The Audio books are great for car rides, and getting the kids to listen, but they are lacking something. I'm not sure exactly. Like I said I love the stories, I'm just disappointed with the audio production. I do have many Audio books that are great, so it's not the "Audio" part..
