Historia
Curiosity gets the best of Elodie when she discovers an old, abandoned graveyard and a tombstone. She is drawn to that tombstone because it has her name on it, or the name of a distant relative she was named for. Until she tumbles back in time to 1779, right into the Revolutionary War. There are few choices for a woman alone in 1779, and so Elodie joins the Continental Army...as a man.

Surviving the Revolutionary War
Revisado: 10-25-23
I enjoyed this book. The genealogist and DAR side of me loved the historical account. I've often wondered what traveling back to the colonial period would be like. I can only imagine the colonists' anger and drive to govern themselves. Here, a woman falls back in time and must join the Continental Army to survive. She must also keep her identity a secret. There isn't a lot of fighting but rather a historical account of the winter encampments told from a fictional narrative. If that is your thing, you'll enjoy this book.

Historia
Twelve-year-old Josh wants only two things in life: to guide his friends, both old and new, across the zombie-infested Texas countryside to the airlift in San Angelo, Texas using his knowledge of zombie lore, and to be reunited with his dad and baby brother at the FEMA camp. If only he didn’t have to deal with one of the most deadly threats of any zombie apocalypse: a teenage boy determined to woo Josh’s crush, Corina, and take over the small band of kids.

This is a great end to the trilogy and brings Josh and his friends to their destination. The narrator for the book is the same narrator from book 2 and her reading style is ideally suited for this book. Overall, this is a good trilogy that targets the tween age group but also enjoyable for adults.

Historia
In the zombie apocalypse, no one is safe. Not even children. That’s what twelve-year-old Josh and his friends in the Zombie Hunters Club discovered when the undead invaded their school in The Living Dead Boy. Now, Josh and the remaining Zombie Hunters are stuck on a city bus traveling across zombie-infested Texas. With fires burning on the horizon, mass evacuations underway, zombies roaming the countryside, and in-fighting among the adults on the bus creating tension, Josh has never felt so helpless. Despite his father’s insistence that the adults can handle the situation, Josh knows far too well from watching zombie movies that one person can put everyone else at risk.

book 2
Revisado: 09-28-19
This is book two in the Living Dead Boy series and continues the story of Josh and his friends during the zombie apocalypse. Book two has a narrator change and the new narrator was better for this particular book. This book is written for the tween age group and the female voice is more in line with the age of the characters. The author throws out several pop culture references that the adult generation can appreciate. The story flows well from book 1.

This is a good, fast-moving book told from the perspective of a 12 year-old-boy. As such, the book is suitable for pre and early teens. Still, as an adult, I enjoyed the story. I think the author did a nice job of capturing the mind, attitudes, and abilities of this age group. Pre-teens are often brighter than we give them credit for and can see angles to situations that adults gloss over. The author brings to light in the protagonist's ability to see things and react differently than an adult would likely respond. The narrator has a pleasant voice and the audio was easy on the ears. Nice work.

Coming together
Revisado: 04-04-19
This is the second book in Aaron Frale's Atmospheric Pressure series. THings start coming together and making sense. We learn how the change in atmospheric pressure occurred and what drove the characters indoors. We also learn that some (at least one) of the characters has a unique DNA quality. There is plenty of action and lots of conflicts. Some things caught me by surprise and I'll be sure to read further installments.
Regarding the narrator, he is one of the better ones I've heard on audible. He does a good job of using different voices and the cadence is good.
Overall, this was an enjoyable book and recommended.

Great dystopian novel. Definitely young adult (which is fine for me). The book demonstrates differences in class and how these classes are treated. There are implications of human test tube/breeding. Nice ending and I look forward to the next book. The narrator was good and I enjoyed listening to Mike. I can't say that for all of the audible narrators. If you like young adult, dystopian, and some genetic/SciFi, you should enjoy this audiobook.

Historia
FBI agent Jess Harding treks back to Anchorage to hunt down a sadistic killer who's reemerged from a five-year hiatus--a killer who has already slipped her grasp once before. The endless days of an Alaskan summer can't thwart the fiend's plans as he slashes his way through the rural community, where everyone knows your name and always distrusts the outside. With the help of Oscar Linstrom, an old colleague who wants to be more than friends, Jess attempts to immerse herself in the area's culture, leading her to a strange rural village inhabited by Russian Old Believers hell-bent on protecting their way of life. Even the locals are outsiders to the Old Believers, and Jess needs a safehaven in the glare of daylight because a blood-stained message left at the scene of the most recent murder says Jess is no longer the hunter--but the hunted.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would. Seth has an easy voice to listen too. It doesn't put you to sleep and keeps you engaged.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes, in Broad Daylight kept me on the edge of my seat and is a definite page-turner. I loved the character development of FBI agent Jessica Harding. Agent Harding in assigned to hunt down a killer who has returned after a hiatus of several years. The story takes you from California to Alaska and is full of action.
What does Seth Harwood bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Listen to the sample and you will understand. I can't say that I enjoy listening to many narrators but Seth is different. Perhaps since he wrote and narrates the book, he is better able to place emphasis where it needs to be.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I can't say too much here as that would lead to spoilers but the unique way that some of the victims die.
