Quickly Outdated
Revisado: 06-12-21
Much of the content deals with Trump administration international relations. Those were obviously hugely important at the time, but they're less pertinent now that his presidency is done. There is still a lot of great content, but it already feels dated in some of the IR discussions.

Here is the story of Klara, an Artificial Friend with outstanding observational qualities, who, from her place in the store, watches carefully the behavior of those who come in to browse, and of those who pass on the street outside. She remains hopeful that a customer will soon choose her. Klara and the Sun is a thrilling book that offers a look at our changing world through the eyes of an unforgettable narrator, and one that explores the fundamental question: What does it mean to love?

Lacks the Charm of RP1
Revisado: 12-03-20
Great performance by Wil Wheaton again, but the story itself lacks the magic of the first book. It feels more like an excess of pop culture references wrapped around a rather generic plot with little interesting going on with the characters. It lacks the captivating sense of wonder that the first story had.
It's still a mostly-enjoyable, lighthearted listen, but not on par with either RP1 or Armada.

Worth it!
Revisado: 04-28-20
I regularly read or listen to business and entrepreneurship content and have many books from this genre in my collection, but I have not re-read any of them as much as this one. It's honestly a great allegorical book on entrepreneurship. It's a great source of inspiration and is a length that makes it good for repeated listening whenever needed. It has, over numerous listenings, become my favourite and go-to listen when needing perspective or inspiration in entrepreneurial efforts. I highly recommend it.

Historia
The Age of Surveillance Capitalism is neither a hand-wringing narrative of danger and decline nor a digital fairy tale. Rather, it offers a deeply reasoned and evocative examination of the contests over the next chapter of capitalism that will decide the meaning of information civilization in the 21st century. The stark issue at hand is whether we will be the masters of information and machines or its slaves.

Horrendously Rhetorical
Revisado: 05-28-19
The basic ideas in this are interesting, but the author writes with such thick rhetoric from a specific ideological position that she makes those ideas unnecessarily overcomplicated. It comes across as an author writing more for herself and glorification of her own intellectualism than as someone attempting to communicate an idea. Terrible.

Historia
For decades, Peter F. Drucker was widely regarded as "the dean of this country's business and management philosophers" ( Wall Street Journal). In this concise and brilliant work, he looks to the most influential position in management - the executive. The measure of the executive, Drucker reminds us, is the ability to "get the right things done". This usually involves doing what other people have overlooked as well as avoiding what is unproductive.

Old Fashioned but Fundamental
Revisado: 05-18-19
The examples drawn upon are as dated as the publication itself, so don't expect insights particular to modern business contexts. That's not big issue though as the contents are fundamentals and basic but important insights that are largely timeless.
