I love having an entire series to listen to without having to wait. I'm in no way qualified to be a literary critic, but this author managed to keep me glued to the story line and feeling familiar with the characters. I've listened to audio books for decades, and the performer in this one was by far the worst I've heard. He didn't bother to check his own work or follow the characters well enough to learn them. The editing was pathetic, with several places that a chapter would end and the performer works would start once with the same chapter. He often to different characters by the working names. If I were this author, I would be infuriated.

I enjoyed this series tremendously. I grabbed it because of the long length, and now I'm looking for other works by this author.

If you could sum up Re-Wired in three words, what would they be?

Spooky, imaginative, misleading

What was one of the most memorable moments of Re-Wired?

When Tricia powers herself on the first time.

What three words best describe Jack Nolan’s performance?

Infantile, poor, and unstudied.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the professor jumped from the patrol car to his death.

Any additional comments?

This book took me on a ride I wasn't expecting. I enjoyed it, but the reader could have been better. Jack Nolan started out reading like he was reading to a bunch of kindergarten students.... I believe it would have been better if he had read the book through, then returned and read it for the audience. I think he could have had better knowledge of the book before sharing it.
I truly enjoyed the story, and although it didn't go the way I expected, I was still happy with the ending.

Where does One Year After rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very much a 'page turner'. I purchased this immediately after listening to the first in the series, 'One Second After', and we were not in any way disappointed.

What was one of the most memorable moments of One Year After?

When the colonel was shot, I was shocked that he was taken, it took an unexpected path in the story line for me.

Have you listened to any of Bronson Pinchot’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't, and unfortunately he was not the narrator of the first book in the series, and perhaps that tainted my opinion. I don't think he did as good of a job as Joe Barrett did with 'One Second After'.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Are Your Prepared to do the Unthinkable?

Any additional comments?

The possible reality of this story really makes you think... what if? I was pleased at the outcome, but at the same time, my stomach stayed in knots during most of the story. I could not have predicted the storyline. We, my wife and I listened together, enjoyed this one so much that we spent several hours sitting up listening to it, even though we knew we should be going to bed. Very enjoyable book!

What made the experience of listening to One Second After the most enjoyable?

The gripping fact that even though the story is fictional, it could easily become a reality, not only here in America, but anywhere in the world. Because of our wealth and comfort, we are a target with a huge bullseye on our foreheads.

What was one of the most memorable moments of One Second After?

When the colonel loses his daughter. Having been forced to bury one of my own children, it's a reality no parent should ever have to suffer.

What does Joe Barrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His narration brings more life into the characters, he did a good job of character expansion.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would love to have listened all in one setting, but forced myself to turn it off and enjoy my vacation.

Any additional comments?

I felt the author did an awesome job of bringing attention the possible realities we are most likely to experience in the current world environment. I immediately began looking for the 2nd book.
