He thought of EVERYTHING!!!
Revisado: 04-16-25
Charles Gilkey calls out every roadblock, situation, excuse, psychological mind trick I've ever come across when dealing with projects. The magic is in the solutions he provides. The level of detail & examples he uses are very helpful in pushing through resistance because he's distilled the problem to its simplest form & solutions. He removes the barrier of entry back into picking up stuck projects & provides a framework for the reader to build on it & make it their own. I purchased the workbook & am going through the book again much slower & start to implement in my current projects. I'm so hopeful I've started fllowing his substack community & youtube channel. Once I get into a good routine implementing this book, I'm going to read his book on Teams.

Historia
Badass Habits is a eureka-sparking, easy-to-digest look at how our habits make us who we are, from the measly moments that happen in private to the resolutions we loudly broadcast (and, erm, often don't keep) on social media. Habit busting and building goes way beyond becoming a dedicated flosser or never showing up late again - our habits reveal our unmet desires, the gaps in our boundaries, our level of self-awareness, and our unconscious beliefs and fears.

Thorough yet Concise
Revisado: 06-05-24
As an HD novice, 3ish yrs into my experiment, this book felt extremely well thought out with every idea boiled down to its most important parts. I think this book may become my go to resource that cements a foundational understanding of all the parts that make up human design. I like that the interpretations have a positive tone - even when explaining “the not-self”. I did not burst into tears when listening to my lines like I did hearing Ra Uru Hu explain them (lol-I was really shocked to the point of tears ;) Instead, I felt empowered & good about myself every time I listened. Thanks for making this into an Audio book. It helps soooooooo much. I can’t wait for the their next book.

Why a male voice? (nice voice but…)
Revisado: 11-17-23
I can’t get into the book knowing this is Robin’s book, her experiences & insights. Especially having heard her over the internets. Surely, there were female voices who could perform the reading. If I’m being sexist, I don’t mean to be - the words & voice don’t compute in my brain. (Lovely voice & performance by the narrator however.)

Hey you guys, it’s Leslie. I’m excited to share my story with you. Now, I’m gonna be honest: Some of the details might be vague because a b*tch is fifty-five and she’s smoked a ton of weed. But while bits might be a touch hazy, I can promise you the underlying truth is REAL.

Vulnerable, Transparent, Hilarious
Revisado: 10-21-23
This is truly the best book I ever read/heard by far. If you want to know what authenticity is, this is it. Leslie Jones doesn't sugar coat anything! From how she felt about difficult relationships to Hollywood to co-workers; she expresses heartfelt memories with a realness that feels like you're reliving it in her brain & heart! She is brave & expresses the range of emotions & thoughts that come from those feelings. Her ability to not back away from the darkness that our head & hearts can go to, made me feel like there is a woman out there like me.
She conveys the importance of taking the time to know yourself & needing to do that through experiences & most importantly feeling afraid but DOING IT ANYWAY!!
I admire the way she didn't stay quiet when seeing injustice toward others or herself because it's the right thing to do. Even if she knew it meant being cast out or even fired. Knowing & demanding her value is a lesson we can learn from her.
There are so many unforgettable quotes I'll be thinking back on when things look bleak. Congratulations to Ms. Jones! She truly is an inspiration & I can't wait to witness more of her work!

I had no idea!!!
Revisado: 04-24-22
I learned so much history all the while entertained by deep characters & a thoughfuly constructed descriptions & story. It felt like I was watching a movie all the while, the author unearths truths about the acquisition of Mexican territories by the US. You witness what war & rebellion was like for poor Mexicans after the Mexican revolution. As I listened to the book, I couldn't help imagine my great-father (60 plus years later) chased & killed by the Christeros around 1917 while my great-grandmother, 7 months pregnant, hid along the mountainside with her young children for 3 days. This book gave me insight & context into my own history. I'm forever changed.

Eye opening & real
Revisado: 12-06-20
The rawness & vulnerability of Lawton's chronicling drew me in to be witness to her lifelong struggle & unintentional gaslighting. Her parents love for her is enviable & opened my eyes to the fact that you can have a loving home & be a loving parent but secrets have a way bubbling up anyways. I will be re-examining my own parenting & the ways I have kept truths from my children & the lies I have told myself to "protect" them. I have a lot to face about myself & lots to make up.

Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.
