Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Historia
Eliot Rosewater, a drunk volunteer fireman and president of the fabulously rich Rosewater Foundation, is about to attempt a noble experiment with human nature, with a little help from writer Kilgore Trout. The result is Kurt Vonnegut's funniest satire, an etched-in-acid portrayal of the greed, hypocrisy, and follies of the flesh we are all heir to.

She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up.

Historia
Can you succeed in business when your strength is more about sensitivity than swagger? If you’re moved by meaning, more than manipulation? In other words: Can you succeed while still being you? Christine Kane is living proof that the answer is yes. Far too many of us have swallowed the notion that business owners have to be a certain way to be successful - strategy-obsessed, data-driven, and relentlessly aggressive.

best business book
Revisado: 12-09-20
A better business book for many of us. Values and relationships over greed. Kane reads her book which made the tone a perfect match. Trusting our ideas, power to and matching our values to our work were some of the gems I will mull over. Looking forward to checking out her other work.

skip it
Revisado: 05-02-20
this book was not one of the better Nevada Barr books I would not recommend it. there are many other better stories and although I love the characters in this story it was not nearly as enjoyable as others in the series. the interactions with characters or stilted. the author's representation of relationship between adults and children was particularly annoying.

Historia
Women get mixed messages about how to succeed at work, and research shows that much of the career advice aimed at men doesn't even work for women. We’re left wondering: How do you say no without being labeled difficult? How do you get paid what you’re worth? Should you go for that next big promotion, even though it’ll impact your family? Known for being 2018’s most-booked female speaker in the world and now a nationally-syndicated talk show host, Mel Robbins answers these questions and more with research-based strategies that you can put into action immediately.

salve for a collapsing paradigm
Revisado: 11-18-18
I could relate to Willa as a mother and wife. Kingsolver's words deeply touched me in both narratives and left me full of Hope and despair . The shambles of life in this era of the bullhorn and carbon chaos was shown back to me in a story that helped me understand that I am not alone.
