I came across this author and series by chance, and how grateful am I for such luck. The author has an amazing ability to create full characters and deeply moving stories that you become instantly addicted. I am a fan forever and once you take a listen, you will join this fan club.

Such a delightful story. Relatable characters and narrated well. I highly recommend as an easy listen— consider for the beach, a hike or walk, or even while doing some errands.

Offended and confused

While the narration was well done and the story starts off interesting enough it falls flat. The characters are unevenly developed, and disjointed. I wanted to like the story so I listened to it fully. The female lead, Emma, was just offensive— rude, judgmental, privileged traits you would expect from the male lead, Jesse. She verbally berates him throughout the book and the opulence described is written from such a place of arrogant privilege that I found myself squinting and frowning for much of the listen. Sorry, I really tried to find redeeming qualities, but it is just a mess of a story. You don’t know who to root for— Jesse seems like a child man, Emma sounds like both an elitist and self-made person— just confusing. Nothing is congruent. I do not recommend though it seems like a possible gem at first glance.

Captivating — a must listen!

Such a rich story from start to finish. It is a book that captivates your attention and makes you sad when it is done. The narrator was
wonderful and allows you to fully immerse yourself in the story. I wept, I laughed, I sighed — a lot emotions. If you have any similar ties in your family, it will hold your attention that much more. Thank you for a lovely surprise listen.

Thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish

Kristen Sieh— I give you a standing ovation! Wonderful narration, truly. This was a delightful story matched perfectly with superb narration. I’ve returned several audibles due to distracting narrators, but this was a one woman show worth listening to. This audible made me into those crazy people who start talking to the screen at movie theaters— just that good. Kate Stayman-London— you take your reader/listener on a vivid rollercoaster ride of fun. I smiled the whole book through. Thank you both!

Take a chance, you’ll not regret it. Great book.

Such a delightful listen! Sara Novak is a wonderful narrator. This book reads like the intro to rom com movie —I could visualize it so well I kept stopping to see if it was on video so I could watch it again after. Well done. I’d listen to it again.
