Historia
The music world has changed, and there’s no coming back. The absolute majority of people now prefer to stream their favorite music, and 94 percent use playlists for this purpose. In fact, playlists replaced the radio, and now every artist has a chance to become a newborn music star just from a successful placement in a top Spotify or Apple Music playlist. But what do you need to become “playlist” worthy? What music do you need to record? And, most importantly, how do you get on such playlists?

Lots of insights and valuable recommendations

I'm a part time musician and (sadly) my music income is not based on live performances. Since I can't play live, I rely mostly on streaming and playlisting to generate a bit of extra $$. Unfortunately, this whole streaming business is a VERY confusing game, if you know what I mean. So many services, so many companies promising overnight miracles for your tracks.
I got this book because it promised to "clear that vagueness of music streaming/playlisting and all that surrounds it". I was not disappointed. The book really covered almost all the questions which I had about getting your tracks streamed and getting on the playlists. It's hard to think how much time & money I wasted focusing on the wrong streaming services in my promotional campaigns!!!
So I recommend this book to EVERYONE who finally wants their records to be successful on Spotify and Apple Music etc. You still need to do all the leg work, but at least the model of success / priorities will be clear to you.
Good luck!

This is a very good introduction into the world of modern music business. Lots of subjects covered, so It definitely needs a few listening sessions. I can't say I heard some true revelations here, but I guess the idea was to cover all the bases which are crucial for a modern indie musician. Overall, I'd recommend the book to all musicians.
I have also got the 2nd part of this series ('Streaming & playlisting') - check it out. The content is more unique there and for my state of music affairs (I'm not a live musician) - it's actually very valuable.
