Historia
An unidentified nude female sits propped against a fountain in Central Park. There are no signs of struggle. When Dr. Kay Scarpetta and her colleagues Benton Wesley and Pete Marino arrive on the scene, they instantly recognize the signature of serial killer Temple Brooks Gault. Scarpetta, on assignment with the FBI, visits the New York City morgue on Christmas morning, where she must use her forensic expertise to give a name to the nameless - a difficult task. But as she sorts through conflicting forensic clues, Gault claims his next victim.

Reader is a distraction
Revisado: 06-15-11
I haven't finished this book yet but I am not liking the reader. One of the few times that I find the reader is distracting me from the book: unnatural pauses in the reading, lack of animation in the voices of the characters. Even missed the opportunity to do NY accents. I admit to not being a huge fan of Cornwell anyway but the performance is making it that much more difficult to finish.

Rather Tedious
Revisado: 10-29-10
I had a hard time finishing this one. I found the characters completely uninteresting. A wealthy couple running around the world playing amateur archeologist with their macbook and iphone (lots of apple product placement references in the book). Yeah right. Some of the historical references were interesting although I admit that I didn't double check them to see if they were real. The plot is not terribly complicated--a linear treasure hunt story. Personally I did not feel very entertained at the conclusion. I was happy that it was finally over. Don't think I'll be reading any more of this series at least.

Historia
Attending the Yaqui tribe's Easter Ceremonies in Tucson should be a dream come true for a Cheyenne-wannabe-shaman like Mad Dog. But immediately after his arrival, he is accused of being a witch. Moments later a policeman is murdered, and suddenly Mad Dog is the target of a city-wide manhunt. Mad Dog's niece, Heather English, comes to Tucson to try to arrange a peaceful surrender or clear her uncle by finding the real killer.

Entertaining
Revisado: 08-22-09
We enjoyed this book. The characters were interesting. Although it was fairly well plotted the writing was somewhat light hearted for a mystery. Kind of a cross between comedy and mystery. Some of the ideas (like the main plot device) would have been interesting to explore in depth but this not a book you can take too seriously.
