A beautiful story

It was really a beautiful story and specifically poignant to me because my timeline with my best friend is almost exactly the same. In the end, I was left wanting a deeper story with greater character development. The use of he said…, and she said… throughout the story was unfortunately distracting.

The raw honesty

It feels like a private glimpse into Dave’s life. I love his vulnerability and honesty in telling his story through his true and humble self. I appreciate his willingness to share a lot of this with the world, as we are so curious. It feels even better that he is reading it because you really get a sense of his feelings. My only critique is that I wish they had gotten a professional editor to clean it up a bit… It was a little painful sometimes.

The story is worthy of a podcast and the delivery of the narrator is excellent and keeps your attention. The curious aspect is how the narrator touts her own high education and intellect, in addition to those in the story, but can’t seem to figure out what was painfully obvious by chapter 2. As the listener, I’m left wondering if the writers have ever listened to a true crime story before. Each chapter leaves her to be even more baffled by the mystery, but there’s not really a mystery. Motive is painfully obvious from the beginning, and I was left wishing the story was presented in another way.
