Historia
The four dead guards didn’t concern Mitch Rapp as much as the absence of the man they’d been paid to protect. Joe Rickman wasn’t just another foot soldier. For the last eight years Rickman had ran the CIA’s clandestine operations in Afghanistan. It was a murky job that involved working with virtually every disreputable figure in the Islamic Republic. More than a quarter billion dollars in cash had passed through Rickman’s hands during his tenure as the master of black ops and no one with a shred of sense wanted to know the details of how that money had been spent.

As usual the fast pace action.

At times. Knowing who the bad guys were was intense at times.
What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?
He is the best. One of my favorite readers.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the director DCI thought she had lost one of her people to torture was moving.

If you could sum up Extreme Measures in three words, what would they be?
Frustrating for the good guys we love.

The fast moving time lines.
Which character – as performed by the narrator – was your favorite?
Mitch.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I could but I would not get much else done in my life.

Historia
It's just seven days before Memorial Day, and a spike in CIA intelligence has pointed to a major terrorist attack on the United States. Now it's up to counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp to pull out all the stops. Rapp immediately leaves for Afghanistan, where he leads a special forces unit on a daring commando raid across the border into a remote Pakistani village. Their target: an al-Qaeda stronghold. Rapp and his team soon discover plans for a catastrophic nuclear attack on Washington, DC.

Narrators can make the difference.
Revisado: 02-05-16
Would you listen to Memorial Day again? Why?
Sure
What other book might you compare Memorial Day to and why?
Maybe some of the Tom Clancy novels involving Jack Ryan. Another American Hero.
What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
George is a narrator that I have enjoyed for years. I really like his voice for Mitch. An earlier book, in this series that I listen to, had a different narrator that I thought was not a good choice. He had a whiny voice much like my own and used the same voice for at least one other character who was a bad guy in the story. There may have been more than one.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The way the bad guys would kill there own for some higher purpose that they believed in - for some religious reasons. Their 11th century belief system is very hard to for me to understand.
Any additional comments?
A good book that makes you want to go out and give these bad people what they want. Seventy four virgins or a straight trip to HELL.

Narration
Revisado: 01-18-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Separation of Power to be better than the print version?
I don't think so.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
It did with its fast moving pace.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
He was my biggest problem with this book. The voice he used for Rap was whiney. It was like several other characters in the book. Mitch should have had a distinct voice like the first 3 books. Lou Diamond Phillips would be a much better choice. I wish subsequent books could be re-read and produced. I like this author a lot but it is hard to listen to my hero talk like something less than a real hero.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
To save the white house and the American constitution.
Any additional comments?
No I am sure you did the best that you could.

But Mitch Rapp is no one’s pawn, and he will stop at nothing to find out who has set him up.

A good fiction story melded with some facts.
Revisado: 09-30-15
What did you love best about The Trench?
The descriptions of the seas before mankind. The tension between our main character and his Russian nemesis.
What other book might you compare The Trench to and why?
Maybe Jaws? This story and book one the Meg, were fairly unique for me.
What aspect of Bruce Reizen’s performance would you have changed?
I think his Russian and British accents were spot on, wouldn't one say? But a lot of the characters had a high pitched, nasal sound that was used too often. In my humble opinion.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but circumstances do prevent that. So I listen as I drive.
Any additional comments?
I like this author a bunch. I hope he stays at it because I will look for more of his stuff.

What made the experience of listening to Command Authority the most enjoyable?
The actor that reads the book is the best of the entire series. His use of accents is superior.Lou Diamond Phillips is one of the best I've heard.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Maybe Jack Jr. or Chavez. Heck I like em all except maybe those Ivans..
Have you listened to any of Lou Diamond Phillips’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes and this one was as good if not better than others. He is so versatile with so many accents I feel like they have a cast doing the book.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were several but I don't want to be a spoiler.
Any additional comments?
Great job Lou and same for the lads that wrote this book.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.
