Historia
When Delaney wins a special Hidden Door Festival invitation to artist Ryory Bennigan's studio, she isn't sure quite what to expect. What she finds is an elusive fellow obsessed with the Picts—complete with his own versions of their blue tattoos and vibrant red hair—recreating the stones they left behind. She also meets a visiting paleontologist, Dr. Adam Pace, from the University of Kansas attempting to sell an artifact that might just explain what the Picts' language really sounded like.

Great continuation of the Cracked Spine mysteries.

I liked the previous narrators better. This one was ok, but couldn’t really separate the other Scots characters as well as previous narrators.

Historia
America is a barren landscape of smoldering ashes, devoid of life except for those people still struggling to scratch out some type of existence. Amidst this destruction, a father and his young son walk, always toward the coast, but with no real understanding that circumstances will improve once they arrive. Still, they persevere, and their relationship comes to represent goodness in a world of utter devastation.

How many times can you repeat something?
Revisado: 11-29-22
Never have I ever wanted to get my money back after reading a book, until this one. But I wont because the narrator needs to be paid for this. Narration was great.
The story is terrible. How many times can you have someone repeat something? The back and forth repetition between the man and the boy could have been established: now it’s built, now we can forget it. Half the words—more than half could be omitted and we could have actually had a story line put in there. The top raving reviews of this book must have been paid for—do not waste your time or money for this. Spoilers! Nothing happens.

Historia
When the historic Hopkins ferry was raised from the bottom of the lake, who would have thought they were literally raising the dead! But there it was—a skeleton—right before their eyes. Unfortunately, the evidence is slim and soggy: the boat sank in 1949, the victim on board was a woman, and near the body is a piece of unidentifiable lacelike fabric. Sounds like a job for Betsy Devonshire. Betsy knows there's more to this story than what’s on the surface.

Robot recording?
Revisado: 12-29-20
Love the story. But the narrator seems like one of those programmable recorders. Weird pauses and inflections.

Historia
"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Seamless storylines and full characters
Revisado: 08-07-20
Wasn’t sure about starting this book. It seemed like a lot of stories and characters. But Pirate Aba puts them all together seamlessly and it’s wonderful. Characters are fullbodied and get into your heart.
AND the narrator is awesome. Ms Parsneau has a lot of voices and weaves them wonderfully.

A bit slow, but some crazy stuff at the end!
Revisado: 01-16-15
This book started really slow. The end was great, and not quite what I expected. Not as good as Mr Mercedes though.
