Historia
Mindy Kaling has lived many lives: the obedient child of immigrant professionals, a timid chubster afraid of her own bike, a Ben Affleck–impersonating Off-Broadway performer and playwright, and, finally, a comedy writer and actress prone to starting fights with her friends and coworkers with the sentence “Can I just say one last thing about this, and then I swear I’ll shut up about it?”

Revisado: 10-22-12
Would you listen to Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) again? Why?
I loved this book, and have recommended it to all my friends!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mindy of course!
What does Mindy Kaling and Michael Schur bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I loved hearing their voices, it is always best when an author reads their own work.
Any additional comments?
This was such a great book, I have and will recommend it to all my friends.

Historia
In the second decade of the 21st century, the world is struck by two catastrophes: a new mini-ice age and a plague to dwarf all previous experiences. Rising out of the disaster is the character known to history as "Bandit Six", an American Army officer caught up in the struggle to rebuild the world and prevent the fall of his homeland - despite the best efforts of politicians, both elected and military.

More soap box than story
Revisado: 04-13-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
If the author had stayed focused on the actual story and not built in so much right-wing based criticism of the U.S. and world at large.
What was most disappointing about John Ringo???s story?
The conservative preaching. Ringo, like everyone else, is entitled to his point of view, but why waste the reader's time by using a fictional event to promote a conservative agenda. It doesn't take any talent to do that.
Have you listened to any of Dan John Miller???s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, this is the first one, but I enjoyed his voice and style.
What character would you cut from The Last Centurion?
No characters, just the over the top lambasting of the media, organic farming, Hillary Clinton (thinly veiled), local government, multi-culturalism, etc, etc....
Any additional comments?
I've listened to other works by Ringo and found the stories compelling and engaging. Unfortunately, The Last Centurion is less a story than it is a vehicle for promoting a conservative agenda. At least, that's the impression I was given by the author.

Revisado: 03-27-12
Where does The Power of Habit rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?
One of the top.
What other book might you compare The Power of Habit to and why?
It reminded me some of freakonomics, but with practical applications.
What about Mike Chamberlain???s performance did you like?
His voice is great, not over the top.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book really made me look at my known and unknown habits, and how to create new habits.

Worth your time
Revisado: 10-27-10
Ayaan Hirsi Ali's story is compelling and informative. She provides a clear view of the main current in Islam that is pushing a fundamentalist mentality and lifestyle. The insight that comes from her own experience makes the conflict between secular and religious based systems of government very clear. It's easy to understand her refusal to not turn a blind eye to the oppression and violence many muslim women must endure today, even in western nations. This book will enlighten the reader about a world the west understands only poorly and introduce them to a courageous women who has put herself at odds with a religion that, in many respects, is trying to maintain a way of life that is 1,500 years in the past.

Historia
Until about 1800, the West and the Islamic realm were like two adjacent, parallel universes, each assuming itself to be the center of the world while ignoring the other. As Europeans colonized the globe, the two world histories intersected and the Western narrative drove the other one under. The West hardly noticed, but the Islamic world found the encounter profoundly disrupting.

A new perspective
Revisado: 08-27-09
Tamim Ansary does an excellent job of presenting the reader with a view from the Islamic side of history. Not only is his reading of the book done in a pleasant, almost casual manner, his effort to tie important events to the western view of history is critical this story's success. I would recommend this book to any history buff, anyone interested in gaining a better understanding of the muslim world, and especially teachers wise enough to know there are more views of the world than the one most of us were taught in school.

Breathless
Revisado: 08-18-08
This book left me breathless, unable to speak. Some reviews have said the beginning is slow, but I like all the details, and they helped paint a picture of who he was in his youth. The middle of the book locked me in, and I became obsessed, the end left me breathless wanting to listen again so I could go back over the details of the story. You will enjoy it very much.

I loved this nice and simple explaination, nothing complicated, listened to it on my morning runs. It answered many questions I had, and took away any fear of the unknown. His voice was soft and soothing, and compassionate. Raised deeply religious my entire life, this book answered many questions about Buddhism. I loved it and recomment it to anyone curious about Buddhism.

Revisado: 04-27-08
I was hoping for a good laugh when I purchased this book, but it was a waste of a credit. She is not funny, her storys are really boring, and her voice is horrible to listen to for long periods of time.

Historia
Peter Walsh, the bestselling author of It's All Too Much, believes that the secret to successfully losing weight is to forget about calorie counting and weekly weigh-ins. Instead, you need to focus on how, why, and where you eat. When it comes to clearing clutter (the fat in our homes), it isn't about the stuff itself, it's about the life you want to live. The same is true for losing weight: It's not about the pounds, it's about living the life you deserve in the body you want.
