Historia
Ever since the System brought magic and monstrous mayhem to Earth, long-haul trucker Jill "Junkmouth" MacLeod has had a need for speed. The highway snaking through the Midwestern plains is the battleground, and the stakes are the lives of not only Jill but thousands of survivors along for the ride. Together with Bertha, her mega-upgraded, fully-turreted, heavily-armored Soulbound big rig, Jill has the edge—so far.

What an evolution from the first book! Unique character classes, fun characters, perfectly timed humor, and the writing will keep you up all night. I can’t wait for the third book.

Historia
Vainqueur Knightsbane is your average dragon: A giant, fire-breathing lizard who loves to take naps on his golden hoard, kidnap princesses for fun, and make the life of adventurers miserable. Vainqueur's only pleasure in life is to watch his treasure get bigger, one coin at a time. So when a would-be thief turned unwilling minion tells him about "classes", "levels", and "quests", Vainqueur wonders if maybe, just maybe, he should consider a career change. After all, why bother hunting monsters for free when you can get paid for it?

Silly and lighthearted, but a delight to listen to. Highly recommended and I’m looking forward to listening to the rest of the series.

A good continuation to the series.
Revisado: 05-04-22
Another good addition to the series with one annoyance. While I understand this series is a low stake, slice of life, series. It's a bit odd that Carl has no urgency or care about his new found powers for the large majority of the book. Maybe Carl is just 'stuck in his ways', but for a man who regularly attended UFO and conspiracy conventions to have a supernatural event happened to him I find it a bit odd that they would just not seem to care.
Other then that it's a fun story and a great performance. I can't wait to listen to the next installment!

A nice low stakes breather.

I gotten a copy of this audio book in a giveaway and was asked to review it once I was done.
Biomedical Self-Engineering is a litrpg slice of life centering around an elderly man named Carl who gained the ability to modify his body, with this he gain a new motivation to pursue a new lifestyle. Let me be the first to say that this is a much needed breath of fresh air from the endless amount of edge-lord power fantasy, harem fantasy, and apocalypse fantasy there is out there. The stakes are small, but there are hints of something more going on in the background and I can't wait to see what more Jon Svenson has for us.
Sound Booth Theater has once again knocked it out of the park with their performance. Justine Thomas James and Jude Erin are great narrators and gives story a whole new dimension to enjoy. SBT makes it really hard to listen to audiobooks that were not narrated by them.

A Classic of Indie Scifi Finally In Audio

A sci-fi stroy that'll keep you hook.
Revisado: 03-30-22
Overall I'm pleasantly surprise with this book. Very good world building with the many alien races and description of alien cultures. The story kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. Lastly, the narration is top notch. Soundbooth Theater makes it really, really, hard to listen to other audiobooks because they truly go above and beyond basic narration.
Waiting for the audio version of book 2! Don't keep me waiting too long!
