During a routine survey mission on an uncolonized planet, Kira finds an alien relic. At first she's delighted, but elation turns to terror when the ancient dust around her begins to move. Returned after 1hr of listening
Revisado: 12-30-22
Narration was blah.
Story seemed without emotion or passion;
the whole thing was blah.
So little of a story told; felt it was setting up for several sequels, but I couldn't past the first hour.

Historia
A modern classic, Einstein's Dreams is a fictional collage of stories dreamed by Albert Einstein in 1905, when he worked in a patent office in Switzerland. As the defiant but sensitive young genius is creating his theory of relativity, a new conception of time, he imagines many possible worlds. In one, time is circular, and people are fated to repeat their triumphs and failures over and over. In another, there is a place where time stands still, visited by lovers and parents clinging to their children.

Hundreds of Audible books in my library, but this is only the second I wouldn’t finish. Did it wrap up everything in the last chapter? I’ll never know…

Internationally acclaimed aviation insider and novelist John J. Nance moves with polished ease and compelling authenticity from the cockpit to the boardroom in a world where the big three U.S. airlines have achieved national dominance, with high prices and poor service. Challenging them comes a new, visionary airline, one that combines a great name from aviation's recent past with new standards of comfort and elegance.

Narrator sounds like Walter Winchell
Revisado: 10-20-21
I think I liked this a lot, but it hard to be sure because the narrator did SUCH an annoying job. If I had read the book I could give a more accurate review. I searched Audible for other titles narrated by Brian Emerson, and his last 2 were economic textbooks. The last title was released in 2019, 2 years ago. I hope this means he is doing well in a new career.

I couldn't stop laughing (in a bad way)
Revisado: 12-24-14
I thought this might be interesting: I had enjoyed a few apocalyptic / end of the world type books, and I had never listened to any book where there was a same sex romance, relationship with the main characters; so I thought I'd give this a listen.
however, I'm quitting after listening to about a third of this. I almost never stop without finishing a book, but I just can't go any further.
Take this gem exchange between the two guys:
"We've got to prepare for tomorrow."
"Tomorrow isn't coming."
"Then we've got to live for today."
"You're right. I can't believe I letting this asteroid get to me like this."
Ooooooohhhhh stop.
It listens like a bad soap opera, and the narrator reads the sex episodes like they were lifted right from a cheesy porn flick. In fairness to the narrator, he can only read the words that were written; but he interprets the sex scenes in a way that cause me to giggle and cringe simultaneously.
I hate to mock anyone's work. I'd like to think that all authors put a lot of work into what they do, and that they are proud of it. As a consumer, I want to know what not to waste my time and money on, so I offer this review.
One great thing about Audible, is that I can get my credit back and try something else.

And Keech is an agent of Earth who’s been dead for 700 years – but still hunts a notorious criminal. On Spatterjay’s vast waterscapes, only the Old Captains risk the native life forms and their voracious appetites. However, they are now barely human. And somewhere out there Keech’s target – the Skinner – runs wild.

Goes on Forever
Revisado: 03-19-14
I'm almost done with this, but I just don't care anymore. It drags on forever. I gave up 5/6ths of the way through. Now I listen when I'm on my commute, finished with other titles and I haven't bought something new. And it still hasn't caught me. The narrator adds to the dullness . I've never written a review like this. Sorry to author Neal Asher, I'm sure he spent a lot of time on it, and there are imaginative ideas. As a package though, it's a bore.

Epic, but not for the depressed
Revisado: 01-14-14
Any additional comments?
Narration was excellent, however the story was long and rather depressing. I'd be very interested in hearing from the author. How does writing something like this spill over into their regular life?
