Powerful examination of a critical topic

Dr. Alvarez examines and untangles an incredibly difficult and increasing important aspect of theology. Prior to my exposure to Dr. Alvarez, I had always thought that the terms Pentacostal and Orthodox were polar opposites and seemingly antithetical. Yet I have now begun to learn about the convergence movement and it has allowed me to realize and recognize how this is the movement that will shift church theology to recognize how these seemingly incompatible aspects are actually enhanced when operating together. To have traditional liturgical sacramental teaching transformed through the culturally vibrant pentecostal lens enhances both worship, teaching, and the entire church experience. Prior to my exposure to the convergence movement, I did not think that solid teaching plus Spirit led could be combined or even possible—but now I believe it is the foundation upon how the church can grow.

As a lawyer, Bob Goff has been extremely challenging in his actions to simply love and do whatever is necessary for people. His books break through the ceiling of what is possible through a single person’s life and his humility and genuineness shines through.
